What made you go "uh oh, I need to do something!"?

I've really started getting into yoga and seeing all the skinny minis doing their binds and forearm stands has given me a bit of a kick in the butt. That and, you know, nearly feinting every time I get on the scales...

The GP weighed me at a routine checkup and told me my bmi was 31 (obese, although she didn't say it was obese)

I knew I had gained a lot of weight, but had no idea how much.

That was nearly 5 years ago now. I lost 4 stone (it took a year) and have kept it off.
My motivation for keeping it off is wearing clothes that I love

Last week, on holiday. The bathroom door had a mirror directly opposite the one above the sink, so I saw my full back view for the first time in years.

The horror. I look like one of those birthday cakes where you stick a Barbie into a bell-shaped sponge.

I’ve been allowing my flatteringly-angled bedroom mirror to kid me for years, and now I’m a good two stone overweight BlushSad

Time to rein it in.

Looking good.

My health. I was 4 stone overweight. Started jogging and calorie counting and lost 6 stone. I've put 2.5st back on which takes me slightly overweight, but that is because I was diagnosed underactive thyroid a few months ago and they are still trying to get my meds right.

I'm a 10/12 now. I want to be a comfortable 10.

Even my bigger clothes digging into me and realising I would need to buy a complete new wardrobe of clothes 'again'.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 17/02/2019 11:51

Partly health, but mostly the misery of clothes shopping. I just felt frumpy and couldn't buy the clothes I wanted to wear.

I tried on a swimming costume and was horrified at the mirrors in the changing room. A big wake up call seeing my body in different angles.
I’m going away at Easter so now trying to loose some weight before I subject others to the sight of my body in a swimsuit!
