I'm an absolute failure

Every day I say I'm going to be good and I'm fine til around midday. Work is busy so no proper lunchtime and once I start eating I just constantly crave more, my willpower is crap. I've joined slimming world and had a 2 1/2 loss last week but then I don't stick to it this week. I'm around 3 st overweight and don't know what to do. I really need some help. Has anyone any ideas or advice, I'm at my wits end and feel so awful about myself..... I have a history of not sticking to things ..... help please!

You're not a failure! Weight loss is hard and things rarely go totally smoothly. If you lost 2.5lbs last week even if you put back on 1lb this week it's still moving in the right direction.

Have you tried eating a heartier breakfast to hold you over until you can eat again?

Try to curate the situation a bit - get healthy snacks in, make lunch and take, buy something healthy in the morning for later, leave your debit card at home... whatever works!

I think it's once I start eating tinydancer I can't seem to stop. It's like food is a drug and I can't sometimes get enough of it, and I'm not always even hungry. I'm definitely a binge eater, I've hidden food before, eaten ice cream in the bath - just to hide it but then sometimes I can go weeks with being good.
I'm going to plan my SW meals tonight, cook a big omelette which will last a few lunches and 🤞🏻. I used to have a lovely figure until a few years ago, menopause struck and now I'm a whale 😢

Please read about the ketogenic diet or listen to the two keto dudes podcast (episode 1). If you are 3 stone overweight it's highly likely you're insulin resistant. A regular reduced calorie diet is setting you up for failure. It doesn't help with carb cravings and doesn't fix your wonky metabolism.

After a decade of being a few stone over weight I'm finally a normal weight (4.5 stone down from my heaviest) and have maintained it easily for the last 18 months with no cravings, no hunger. Low carb, high fat is definitely worth considering - one of the best things I've ever done.

Thanks Boodles I will def take a look. Did you exercise too to get a great weight loss like that and also do you feel better in yourself health wise?

Preparation is key to weight loss. I joined SW at the start of January and I've lost 10lbs so far! Once I start eating I struggle to stop too, but if I only have food in that's on plan I can't go wrong Smile Meal planning, batch cooking and drinking plenty of water are key. Good luck, you can do it!! Thanks

Eat breakfast. I never did and now I do I find I am not hungry again until lunch. Then eat a decent meal for lunch rather than snacking. If you must snack have fruit. I literally bring half a cucumber into work to snack on. If your doing sw then look at low syn snacks to have If you don't fancy fruit. You can do it!

Thankyou you've all been really helpful and encouraging x

No, virtually no exercise. I got a new job and haven't worked out how to fit it in yet.

I feel amazing. On different levels: it feels great to walk into a shop and know I'll fit into a size 12 (or even 10!!), but mostly I feel amazing in myself. I have so much more energy, I'm more alert, but also less stressed. I sleep amazingly. But I think most of that is keto and not necessarily weight loss related.

And I never eat breakfast. Total myth created by Kellogg's to sell cereal.
