Gastric band and getting worried

madcatladyforever · 31/01/2019 12:25

Crap I am going in for a gastric band today to try to control my life long food addiction and binge eating.
I am in a big panic as to how I am going to manage without food for the next 5 weeks and then not being able to binge eat.
It feel's like having a leg amputated. I am being ridiculous and must get all of this under control.

Have only just seen this....how did you get on? I'm having one on Saturday and am freaking out now. I am convinced however that it's the only way forward, we surely wouldn't have gone down this extreme route if we had other option. Hope you're ok.

You need therapy to understand WHY you overeat and use food for comfort. You are an addict and food is your drug. Unless you get to the root of your psychological problems you are at serious risk of remaining obese.
