Fatloss 4 Idiots - apparently the new rage

Was sent this by a friend. I've not not heard of it but apparently, it is one of the most popular programmes on the internet, because it claims you can lose 9lb in 11 days by using a technique called calorie shifting.

Calorie shifting does sound intriguing because it is a way of getting your body to burn more calories than it normally does through what you eat - a technique used by bodybuilders who need to lose fat quickly before a competition.

Has anybody come across this?

Nope but I am having a heap of success with a pedometer - get in 10,000 steps a day and things do start to move.

I'm sorry but I think it is just bullshit. The premise that you need to change what you eat every day so that your body burns calories more efficiently is a croc. It is well known that over weight people ususally have a faster metabolism than thinner people.

Eating four small meals a day does have some sucess though so I think that they are just marketing this in a fancy(and very patronising) package.

The only way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you use. And the only way to do it effectively for long term is to do it slowly.

I agree with Carmenere

I agree too that the only logical way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you use.

I'm more interested from a scientific pov because it is claimed that foods like chilli help to raise one's metabolic rate therefore helping you to burn more calories.

Eat less - move more. It's the only way.
