Inspiration needed: what's actually WORKED for YOU to flatten your tummy?

I'm so sceptical of abdominal exercises because they've never worked for me. But I've lost my post-birth weight slowly and sustainably and have ended up skinnier than I was before, but with a great big horrible tummy bulge. Do I just need to grit my teeth and stick at it? How many a day do I have to do, and how long before I see a difference? I need solid first-hand experience from real people to give me a kick up the backside - everything I hear from others is just tired old theory (or else anecdotes about superstars with personal trainers ...)

i got myself a tummy toer out of argos it was only a cheap one but it comes with a exercise sheet it tells you to work up to thirty exercices a day (thirty movement) and sorry cant tell if its working because im also trying to lose the weight but my mothers got one and ive never seen her with a bulge but i think you do need to stick at it because you wont notice there diference first other around you will

Sorry but my tummy never went back to normal after 1st baby even though i went back to normal weight, still losing weight this time. I reckon these celebs have emergency lipo when they have their elective cesarians (sp?). Bitter, moi??!!

Pilates! Starts with strengthening yout pelvic floor and then moves up your stomach firming it up as you get better at it!

Whats more - it is very very relaxing to do!

I can only say that you should be able to get the tummy you had before kids - exercise or no exercise, but I do know that with each child it takes longer - 2 yrs or so after 3 kids!
I only did running round after the kids exercise and I'm the same as before - though I've always had a flabby belly even though I'm skinny!!!
Some of my friends jogged or swam - I don't think it really matters, but I would do sit-ups etc as they're free and you can do them anytime - or buy a video - or how about sex ??

try cutting out any yeast foods as they can cause bloating.... I find if I give up berad eevn for a couple of days the difference is amazing...

However, I do think that most of this is genetic - I have had two planned sections and I do have quite a flat stomach as it seems to be the first place I lost weight from.... my stomach is back to its pre - 10lb babies state... however my hips thighs and bum are just out of control.... maybe I should have asked for the liposuction there during the sections!

try giving up bread as well as berad for it to work!!
