How can I lose half a stone in 1 month?

I really need to lose a stone but half a stone would be good! It's just that all of clothes are getting too tight and I cannot afford to buy a whole new wardrobe. The only thing is I am pleased with my bigger boobs so would be good if they would stay but lose the bum and thighs I have developed.
It's also my 30th next month and I am having a girly night out.

Atkins would probably shift it fairly quickly and you could then ditch the diet afterwards.

Thanks SD. I'll try and find it on-line somewhere.

how about cutting out the sweets/crisps/alchohol/desserts etc and cutting down on your intake of refined cards (ie white bread, white rice, white pasta etc) and increasing your fruit and veg intake and doing some exercise.
Whta's you diet like now? Can you see easiyl where you can make a difference or do you eat wuite well anyway?

A bit of both TBH. I am trying to eat more fruit and cut out the crisps but over the holidays it's gone a bit out of the window. In 18 months I have gone from an 8-12. I am partial to a glass of wine or 2 in the evening to help me relax when the children are in bed. Maybe that's why I am putting on weight.

Know this might be frowned on as a bit of crash diet, but would you consider the cabbage soup diet. I've done it week on/week off in the past - and you do lose weight fast. You'll find several versions on google I think (try Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital if not listed as cabbage soup). Not hard to imagine that the soup will taste horrid and then you'll be pleasantly surprised! I think it works by 1. cutting out anything interesting (fats and most carbs) and 2. limiting your choice of foods, so you don't want to overeat. Found it hard but rewarding. And with week on, week off, you're never far from normal diet/booze etc.

I did atkins for a quick weight loss. Lost about 9 lbs in 3 weeks, but have to say i put it all back on and more once i stopped it. Have heard this from lots of people so just giving you a warning.

Good luck.

If you want the weight to stay off, you have to pick a diet that will become a way of life. If you don't change your eating habits for good, you'll just be yoyo-ing forever with whatever diet you choose.

I have similar problem - like boobs but want to reduce bum/hips - I have done quite well with mixture of low GI diet - ie only eat good carbs and don't eat any bread atfter lunch time and exercise - swimming/running.... seems to be doing well.... and wuold be even better if did not have slip ups like the one I am currently in middle of - making choc chip cookie with DH!!

Have just lost half a stone in two weeks. Don't know if it was my diet or whether it coincided with finally stopping breast feeding a month previously. I did eat quite a lot at meal times so just tried to change what I ate. Basically I cut out most of the meat and ate fish instead. I don't normally eat much fish but it was so nice and summery it seemed easier to!
And cutting out the evening biscuits too...

I must stop eating the kids left overs
