Does anyone else have stomack upset when they have special K or anything similar suggesting weight loss?

I feel sick when someone shows me a box if that's what you mean but no.

Special K is actually quite sugary/salty/overly processed. You'd do just as well with porridge or fruit and fibre and they taste better too. BTW if you have tummy upsets after cereal porridge oats are a good idea because they are binding (ie they make firmer poos).

Special K is awful. I don't know why I listen to all these stupid ads and get the stuff. I'm just really upset with my big stomack which looks as if I'm pregnant. On occasions people were about to let me go in front saying :'in your condition' and i had to tell them that it's not that I'm expecting, I'm just fat! I wish I could do something constractive and stop putting on weight but I don't want slimming pills or apetite suppresing tablets, i just would like to have a good eating plan which will not make me weak or sick but let me slowly but steady get into shpe and remain it. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Have you been tested for PCOS? Since you have tummy weight. Are your periods normal?

Exercise would be much more effective than dieting you know?

fedda · 30/06/2007 23:11

My tummy gets big every evening after dinner however normal it is. I've stopped a cup of coffee after my meal and I tend eat normal portions. My period is okay. both my parents have been fat since their 30-s and my grandmatherswere fat as well. I'm not fat yet but my belly is and I'd like to get back to my normal weight, so I need to get rid of 7 kg. My weist is bigger then I'd like it to be and I wear size 16 instead of size 12 I had 5 years ago. When I get up and weigh myself I weigh 2 kg less then the night before.

Ah now that sounds like irritable bowel syndrome!

fedda · 01/07/2007 12:03

I'm sure it does and meanwhile I'm looking for some solutions which don't involve going to the doctors (sorry if you are a doctor, I've leaned my lesson trying to avoid all the doctors at all costs!)

Okay, well I'm not a doctor so you can relax. But there are dietary ways of relieving symptoms of IBS which can be related to stress/depression apparently. try this site

Thank you. I like this site.

I suffer from IBS and it is a fact that too much fibre, fruit and veg can set it off.

I feel constantly bloated (regardless of what I eat) and also a little sick if I eat too much of the aforementioned foods in a day.

Disgusting I know but what are your bowel movements like?

People always weigh less in a morning than the night before though, that is apparently your true weight. However, if you have bathroom scales that calculate your body fat, the true reading for that is evening before your main meal. God knows why but that is how it is!

I sympathaze with you and i know how it feels. I think the condition is connected with how relaxed or tense we are. Anyway, smaller portions make me feel better but sometimes i can't resist having too much when the food is lovely. The more I enjoy the food the more chance it is to suffer later. It's not fair.

I think your right about how relaxed or tense we are affecting it. I get cramps a lot which are much worse when I am stressed (like NOW ).
