Are PTs worth it?

Is it worth paying for a PT?
I've been gyming for a while now and often see PTs showing the same techniques to all their clients. I know some specialise in certain fields. For general muscle toning and fitness improving, is it worth having one?

I've got one. I'd say yes it's worth it if they are good. A good trainer will sit down with you and discuss what you want to achieve. I was looking at building strength and general fitness. I'm being trained on weightlifting and I'd not appreciated how technical some of the lifting is - even at low weights you can do yourself serious damage if you don't have correct form.
You can look at videos of technique on YouTube but nothing beats having someone watch you and if necessary get a bit hands on and correct you as you go.
A trainer will also plan out with you what you do when you aren't with them so you don't end up over exercising bits of your body - providing a balance.
If you are looking more at cardio training then I'd say the Internet has sufficient resources.
