14.....
Been doing Slimming World since March and have lost almost two stones. I was a size 20 when I started and my aim at the time was to get into the only size 14 dress in my wardrobe by Xmas. I tried it on last night and it fastened...ok a bit tight round the hips still but even so...I'm so thrilled. Just wanted to share it with you all.

Wow Helsi that is fantastic! WEll done.

Thanks for your mail BTW. I have replied.

anorak · 02/09/2004 13:51

I'm so pleased for you helsi, that's brilliant! I know how thrilling that feeling is, unfortunately my slimming came to an end when I broke my leg and on went all the weight again so I'm dieting again now. But I'm really looking forward to wearing some of the clothes I can't fit into at the moment. From a 20 to a 14 - what an acheivement

Fio2 · 02/09/2004 13:57

well done I went from an 18 to a 145 last year, am back in a 16 now though, unluckily but i have alot on. i have vowed to join weightwatchers next week. i will use you as my inspiration

DelGirl · 02/09/2004 13:58

Wow, well done Helsi, that's brilliant. I'd love to be a size 14, don't think it'll ever happen though. Good for you

Fio2 · 02/09/2004 13:58

Fio2 · 02/09/2004 14:13

thanks anorak! thats how I imagine myself aswell!

bran · 02/09/2004 14:48

That's fantastic Helsi, I'm really looking forward to going down even one size (currently a tight-fitting 20 on the bottom and 24 on the top). But although I've lost half a stone in 4 weeks it doesn't seem to be moving off my tummy which is where I carry most of my fat.

Can I ask you if you were left with excess skin, or whether it all tightened up as you slimmed? It's a bit of a delicate question, so don't answer if you don't want to. It's just that I read on a WW message board about someone who had a tummy-tuck after reaching her goal weight, and it freaked me out a bit .

Cadbury · 02/09/2004 15:42

Congratulations! that goves me some hope. I'm a size 20 - 22 (22 on top) and I'm not sure I've ever been less than a 16 but I'd love to know what that feels like!

champs · 02/09/2004 16:40

wow!! well done and in only 5 months.
bet you danced around in that dress I know i would have.

bran-- that worries me too.

MummyToSteven · 04/09/2004 18:23

well done Helsi! Now you will have to go out and get loads of sexy new gear!

Allegra · 04/09/2004 18:25

Congratulations Helsi, that must be a great feeling. Just in time for some new Autumn clothes!

karen01 · 07/09/2004 07:42

Congratulations and well done. I really need to get my arse in gear as DH has promised me £1000 if I get down to a comfortable 16, might even try for a 14 now reading this. I am soo happy for you.

helsi · 08/09/2004 08:10

Wow, thanks everyone for your best wishes . Bran I have got a bit of a flabby tummy but you can't tell when I am dressed. Should really try and tighten it up a bit doing sit ups or something but I hate exercise.
All those of you who are trying to lose weight keep at it. It is worth it in the end. My confidence has grown although I can't afford any new clothes at the moment so if anyone out there has lost weight and has any decent size 14/16 clothes that they want rid of give me a shout. I still have 1 stone 10 lbs to lose and have just joined in the challenge on the thread to lose a stone B4 Xmas so will see hoe we go. Good luck everyone - YOU CAN DO IT!!!
