Has anyone lost weight with regular walks as the only exercise?

How long did you walk for and how long did it take? Was your diet very restricted?

I'm rubbish at sustained diets or even mostly healthy eating - I don't drink loads of alcohol or soda, but I do have a little dessert or crisis every day. Due to family /work setup I can fit in about an hour walk out days. Can't afford the gym. Am I kidding myself I can lose substantial weight doing this? Am 5 ft6 and creeping up on 14 St, so do need to lose quite a bit.

I have lost weight through walking. I walk 6k (3.7 miles) in one hour. It takes a bit longer to lose the weight overall than if I ran but it's much easier on the joints. I walk as if I'm in a hurry to get somewhere- it's not just a wee stroll. Also I now do it twice a day getting up a 6am for the first one and my diet is not bad either. Hope that's helpful 😉

Yes. I have lost three and a half stone with zero exercise except for walking. I walk everyday (three dogs so I’m motivated!) and I also hike although haven’t recently as the weather has really turned now.

BUT—I am very focused and very disciplined with my diet. I think that’s the key to it—get your eating habits under control and the exercise you do is a nice healthy bonus on top, not your primary method of losing weight (unless you’re really killing it at the gym, weight lifting frequently which honestly I just cannot commit to Blush)
