Gym tips

Looking for some tips on how to lose weight and tone up as I just feel quite soft and untoned everywhere. I've signed up to a gym for the first time and I'm a bit lost. It has plenty of cross trainers, treadmills, spin machines, stairmasters, plenty of weight equipment.

Can anyone recommend how often and how long each session should be to burn fat/tone up? And what would you recommend for an all over workout? I'm also making for of an effort to make healthy food choices and rely on the myfitness pal app heavily, I'm just so lost in terms of exercise.

Weights are great however I love a class rather than the gym as I enjoy group exercise and we have really friendly classes
Do they offer les mills classes, ie body pump, body combat etc?

Which Gym have you signed up to?

HIIT training is good for fat burning. Weight/resistance training is also very good.

Its a JD sports gym. They offer body pump, cross fit, spin classes (as well as lots of others to be fair).

What sort of weight training would you recommend? Smile

I'd try all the classes
Being in the gym and doing weights is ok but I would give body pump a go
It's lower weights than you might lift in the gym but higher reps(rep effect)
My student Dd belongs to a newly opened jd gym and loves it as hers offers lots of classes as is such good value
