I started off as 73kg and at 5ft 2' that makes m overweigt and admittedly i do have a bit of flab on me nothing major but it is there i am a size 14.

I have been eating healthy religiously for nearly 3 weeks now with NO slip ups eating loads and loads of fruit ang veg, and hardly any fat a day. If i snak wwhich i try not to it's fruit or raw veg and i have had 2 be good to your self biscuits in the last 3 weeks which considering i used to scof a family bar of choccy a night with a huge bag of crisps is pretty good i think.

Anyway i have also been doing vigorous excersise everynight except 3 nights. Thsi is a mixture of Davina's work out d.v.d's, wieghts, and aerobics.

I jumped on the scales this morning thinking i must have at least lost some wieght to fine i havent lost even a pound

I kno im never going to been very thin i am big built i have enormous boobs and wide hips but i want to at least be a healthy weight my bmi is 32 which i know is not healthy.

Wat am i doing wrong?

Have you noticed your clothes getting looser? Sometimes the weight doesn't come off but the inches do. Try measuring instead of weighing.

What are your portion sizes like? Don't skimp on the veg, but limit your carbs and meat. Try halving the amount of rice, pasta and potatoes you have. Eat more fish and less meat. And most importantly drink lots and lots of water - atleast 6-8 glasses a day.

Hi charley
How much are you snacking?
What are you having for breakfast?
What are you having for dinner?
I think as with all weightloss (and I am rubbish at it) patience is the key. Unfortunately, in this day of instant gratification, we're not v good at being patient. (I know I"m not. I jump on the scales after doing a poo in the hope of seeing a change!)
What are you drinking too? any booze? any dreaded diet drinks which are Very Bad For You.

Quattrocento · 19/06/2007 11:03

Charley - muscle weighs more than fat! So you are probably losing some fat with the improved diet but gaining some muscle with the workouts.

I'd keep at it. Are you drinking 8 glasses of water a day? This will help to raise your metabolic rate and cut down on teas and coffees. Teas and coffees often involve calorific milk ...

Good luck

Write absolutely everything down, every cup of tea, snack etc.

Throw away the scales! Go by how your clothes feel, never mind what the scales say. If you can't throw away the scales then make sure you weigh yourself no more than once a week, preferably once a fortnight.

As for exercise - how about a brisk walk or a swim or joining a gym? I've never been a fan of work out dvds personally.

It can often take as much as 6 weeks before a "diet" really kicks in.

Wieghing portions? bugger that far to much effort! lol

Ysterdays menu was.

Breakfast - 1 slice grannary toast with marge (small amount) and marmalade

Lunch - 1 small granry roll packed with lettuce, sweetcorn, toms, cucumber, onions

DInner - 1 small skinned chicken breast with half a plate of salad with tbsp of fat free balsamic vinigar dressing.

Dessert - Fruit salad with lo fat natural youghurt.

I dink a mixtre of drinks during the day mostly water but i have the occassional cup of tea (no sugar, semi skimmed milk)

I have a small glass of Rose at the weekend.

Usualy that would of read.

B - 3x Toast and chocolate spread
L - Mc Donalds
D - Pizza, chips
D - Ice cream

Shows how much my diet has changed!

Keep at it, I was having the same problem -very discouraging but I did lose two inches from my waist while still at the same weight and I have now lost half a stone...(one and a half more to go).

Quattrocento · 19/06/2007 11:17

Can you cut out some of the bread? I mean you could have a small amount of pasta rather than the bread for lunch. You could cut out toast and marmalade for breakfast and substitute fruit salad?

Just a thought.

TootyFrooty · 19/06/2007 11:19

Your body might have gone into starvation mode! Seriously though - what an amazing change to your diet.

Stick with it - it will work even if it takes a few weeks before you notice.
