Dropped snacking and lost weight?

Apologies in advance if this is a no-journos zone but hopefully mine is a fairly innocuous request. I'm a health writer writing about the pros and cons (mostly downsides) of snacking for a health feature in a national. I'm casting around for anyone who would be happy to give me a few lines about how they lost weight / improved their health by dropping the snacks/grazing and going back to just three square meals. I think we've become so indoctrinated that we must eat the minute we feel a tiny bit hungry - don't you think?

What makes you say that?

Perhaps indoctrinated is a bit strong, but I mean there's a huge and lucrative snacking industry who definitely want us to believe we need snacks when actually the evidence suggests giving your body a rest between meals is a good idea.

I think switching from white pasta/rice/bread to brown fills me up for longer so no need to snack- also I have PCOS which can cause insulin resistance so sugary foods are not broken down properly by the body so I have to avoid sugary foods. I don't snack anymore this combined with going to the gym and reducing my portion size for the 3 meals I eat means I've lost 8lb in 2 weeks and got my weight back in the healthy zone of BMI!
