I realllllyyyy need to shift some weight to get into a healthy bmi to hopefully kick start my body into ovulating and fingers crossed conceiving.

I have pcos and find losing weight so hard, and I always feel so lethargic it's a vicious circle. Does anyone have any tips or diets that they have found good with pcos??

Hiya

I haven’t been diagnosed with PCOS however have lots of the symptoms (dr wasn’t the most helpful)

Any way I really struggle to loose weight and was so fed up that I decided to cut out gluten and milk! The weight started to fall off.

I think it was the fact that I looked for low sugar foods and because I was looking for gluten free and milk free I was really focused on what I was eating.

No scientific help but I found it helped

PCOS is a glucose metabolism issue. If you try the ketogenic diet, it has great success in resolving it

The only way I can lose weight with PCOS is by low carb. I stick to around 20g of carbs a day and have lost 4 stone this year.
It can be tough, but the low carb boot camp threads are really useful with recipes and encouragement.
There are definitely ways, if you have Pinterest there's lots and lots of recipe inspiration.

Not an expert OP, but lots of posters on the low carb bootcamp threads have reported improvement in PCOS. I can definitely say that my periods were lighter, non-painful and hormomes felt more balanced when eating low carb.
Diet Doctor website is a good resource on the science and benefits.

Hi, I have PCOS and find low carb diets work, specifically the Blood Sugar Diet, proper food but 800 kc a day so you should see results quickly. Keep a food diary to stay on track. Good luck.

Thanks everyone.
I'll look into the low carb diet.
Just need the motivation to start. I feel stuck in a rut.

If you need more motivation to eat LCHF, your skin looks great on it and you have improved sleep and energy. Once adapted to it, you can also go long periods without feeling hungry, or hangry, which is very freeing.
Check out the bootcamp thread, currently only on week 2, so lots of beginners there.
