HackAttack · 26/10/2018 16:34

Bought some scales, in ten days allowing for one night and day off I've lost half a stone, score!

Well done HackAttack and Idontneedyourjudgement great losses. 👍

feejee · 30/10/2018 13:58

Hi, I have been considering the Newcastle type diet for a while as im fed up of feeling so fat and tired. I read this thread a week or so ago, and since then have taken the plunge. Just ordered a 4 week pack to trial so I will be starting as soon as it arrives. I'm not very good at diets, so i'm hoping i will be able to cope and I don't get too grumpy to start with.

simplybe29 · 30/10/2018 14:22

Hi there, can I join too? Started on Lighter
Life today hoping to shed some weight before Xmas.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 31/10/2018 11:39

Lost 1lb this week.
I'm happy with that, up to yesterday my scales were showing a gain, happy with any loss.

Idontneedyourjudgement · 31/10/2018 13:12

Well done Minnie!!!!(skinny Minnie 😜)

nornironrock · 31/10/2018 15:04

I'm in!

Started Exante on Monday morning.

Doing 800cal per day, as a shake, soup, meal, and bar.

The plan is to do an initial 12 weeks and then bring evening meals back in. However, my experience so far of the packaged "meals" are that they are foul. The shakes/soups/bars are fine....

My aim is to lose 25kg in 12 weeks, which is basically 4 stone. I'm currently 6' and 119kg.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 01/11/2018 12:53

Idontneedyourjudgement I wish Wink still a size 16 buts its definitely progress

nornironrock how are you getting on

nornironrock · 01/11/2018 13:08

Hey @Minnies - I had a cheeky weight yesterday evening at the gym and found I had dropped 2.5kg. Really very pleased with that.

Some observations: Not feeling hungry at all. Not even a bit. But, I am really really missing "food". I would murder for something like rice or pasta with a nice meaty sauce. But, I am going to keep off normal meals as much as possible as I know I'll simply eat too much.

For me, the single best thing about this diet is that completely removes the element of choice. That's what I need!

I'll be out with the kids on Saturday afternoon, and I will probably eat something normal with them - but I am thinking that a weekly "treat" will probably be a good idea as it'll make me less likely to fall of the wagon during the week. At least that's what I hope!!!

Alot of people have said ^ this on another thread I'm on.

That's a great start, well done.
I'm terrible for stepping on the scales to much, today I weigh more than yesterday, my official weigh in day. I only ever count the result on a Wednesday

glasshouse · 01/11/2018 14:33

I lost a load of weight with Exante/Lighter Life and to be honest it is the easiest diet I have ever done. You know you are not allowed to eat (except for the packets/bars etc) so you don't. I lost about 7 stone in all. However, it crept back on as you don't address the issues of why you are eating too much. I'm back on a diet, strict during the week and more relaxed at the weekend, logging everything with MFP and have lost 4 stone. But am conscious that losing the weight is the easiest bit, keeping it off is my problem.

nornironrock · 06/11/2018 10:33

So, after a week, I have a couple of thoughts.

For me, it is not sustainable to do this every day for multiple weeks. So, we have decided to have a day off (after breakfast) once per week.

I lost 3.5kg in the first 5 days. I will be weighing again tonight (end of day 9).

As in my previous post, I do think this is a pretty easy way of doing things. I never feel hungry, but I really miss "normal" food....

nornironrock · 13/11/2018 09:16

Where is everyone?
So. I had my two-week weigh in last night, and my weightloss is now 5.5 Kg. Week 2 obviously not as great as week one, but I did have a cheat day that was huge, and a couple of other meals though the week.

The challenge is keeping the cheating to an absolute minimum.

But, that still means I am down 11 pounds in just two weeks, so should be a stone by the end of this week! All good.....

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 13/11/2018 14:35

👋 to nornironrock, I'm here.

Great weight loss, well done.

nornironrock · 19/11/2018 09:00

Weigh-in tonight - this will be three weeks in total.

Weighed on Friday but then had a bad weekend, so expecting not to have had such a great week in terms of the numbers.

Latest total was 6.6kg, or 14.5lb in old money.

One stone down, three to go.

BarMcBarsen · 19/11/2018 09:05

Which products do you all recommend?

nornironrock · 19/11/2018 11:09

@BarMcBarsen I would suggest the bars, shakes, and soups. The meals are foul.

I'm using a shake for breakfast (tip - get a Huel shaker or similar, put water in first, powder in after, and shake till you feel it may snap your wrist), a soup for lunch (put boiling water in your shaker, and whisk violently with a fork until the soup is a whirling maelstrom of a whirlpool, and then keep going), and then two of the bars in the evening.

I never feel hungry, but miss food a lot!

BarMcBarsen · 19/11/2018 13:31

Thank you 😀

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 21/11/2018 11:32

It's very quiet on this thread.

How are you all getting on?

I've had a good week 3 1/2 lbs off, 70lb total

nornironrock · 04/12/2018 08:47

Hey, I've been away a little while... I am now 5 weeks in and I am 23 pounds down.

70lb is a great effort, and actually is pretty much what I am aiming for total.... Well done!
