I emailed charlie on Saturday with my result but she emailed back to say that I was the only one to send in a result, and I was on holiday.

Where is everyone?

My total was 55,989

I was on holiday and forgot to take it with me - so I came last with a grand total of 10,030 which I did on Sat 14 August! Well done MB - I will be back at the end of this week

Earlybird · 24/08/2004 23:08

I mailed in my pitiful results on Monday. My total was 48,546. Seems that the 'westtest August on record' is getting the better of me. That and sheer laziness........!

hello, I haven't got a pedometer but am desperate for one. Please keep this going so that when I've got one I've got someone to tell how much I did!

Keep a note of your totals from saturday to friday.

Email the total to CP3 at [email protected] and when she has got them all in she will start a new thread and post the totals there.

ok will do!!!

ernest · 25/08/2004 15:04

had no time to get on computer. my total for last week was a wopping 99, 451!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unfortunately I've been to lazy & busy this week and so far have barely notched up 20, 000, so this week won't even be half of last week's effort.

Plus my stupid pedometer keeps resetting itself - the reset button is just on the top so if I lean against something or pick up one of the kids it just clears it.

MadameButterfly · 25/08/2004 15:33

Good Grief Ernest that was good going last week.

I found I kept resetting the kelloggs pedometer, but I now have this one which has a cover over the buttons.

i got mine free from mcdonalds and its got a cover for the reset button!! handy whe you got little fingers getting to it all the time!!

ernest · 25/08/2004 16:53

i also got one from mcd but it wasn't accurate. my 'real' one is very accurate but keeps resetting. that one looks good mb, is itgood & accurate?

for my sins, not only have i walked no distance this week (appart from 1 good day) i also went to the dreaded mcd for lunch & didn't even have a salad, but a giant greasy burger, chips & coke and have felt slightly ill & too full all afternoon.

oh how thje mightty shall fall

Quick question: what tyical stride length have you put in yours - I think mine was about 70 cm, but I remember thinking this seemed a bit ad hoc when I measured it (down the hallway).

On another issue, I'm worried about DH's lack of activity, given his sedentary desk job etc, so suggested he wear my pedometer today.... at lunchtime he'd only clocked up about 1000 steps.
He is now paranoid and I will probably have to accompany him on 3 mile walks every evening....

Chinchilla · 26/08/2004 22:22

I did over 10,000 yesterday, but that is a rough figure as my pedometer reset itself after about 2,500, so I'm not totally sure. Also, sprained ankle is still v v v sore, so I am not religiously walking every day.
