Step away from the bagels!

I think we should concede defeat on the three day meat/fish/egg fest, eh?

Crotchety · 14/06/2007 12:19

OH do another day frog and see if it makes a difference! I want you to be my guinea pig (not a frog...)

cylonbabe · 14/06/2007 18:25

lol, i was very good oggy, put the bagels in the bread bin, so couldnt see them. as if by magic, the desire to gobble them ebbed away.
today has been good atkins day, though not so good for meat fest. i think themeat fest is really really hard to stick to.

Hope your results are cause for celebration! Even if a carby one!

oggsfrog · 15/06/2007 07:00

I've got my fingers crossed here for you Strawb - have a good night regardless.

Sorry Crotchety, unable to be your guinea-frog. It's just too bloody hard to not eat any veg at all.

Yesterday I ate;

Salami
Feta salad with onions, tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce/salad leaves. Oil and lemon dressing.
Feta salad again (the prawns I'd got out smelt decidedly off and didn't want to risk it)
Boiled egg
Lots of water
2 cups tea w/ soya milk

The meat diet is hard but it's only 3 days and it often does help. Just choose your favourite allowed food and eat loads of it if you like - chicken legs, egg or tuna mayo, roast pork. It is only 3 days and it is possible. In the past I've been struggling to get back below 11s - hovering around the 11 stone - 11 stone 1 mark for months - and this got me down to 10s 11.

It's meant for the times you need drastic action.

oggsfrog · 15/06/2007 07:20

It's the just drinking water I have a problem with as well as the no veg at all.

Tend to manage the day ok but I like a hot drink when I read in bed.

Might try it again soon, but adding the tiny pieces of red pepper every hour.

How's your ankle Orm?

OP posts:
Crotchety · 15/06/2007 07:50

And does the downward trend continue fairly straighforwardly after that Orm? Like most people here I am stuck around the same area/size give or take a few pounds depending on the weather or something...

OrmIrian · 15/06/2007 08:09

Crotchety - I find that it tends to kick start the loss generally. But if you are near your target weight it might still be hard to shift much. If you back on to strict induction you would probably be alright. There are no guarantees of course

oggs - a hot drink should be fine. I always drink coffee and tea with a tiny drop of milk or cream. You are allowed up to 5g of carbs a day. My ankle is better thank but I did a 4 mile run last night and its giving me twinges again so I've strapped it up and will be a bit more careful I think....

Crotchety · 15/06/2007 11:50

The annoying thing is that I am actually nowhere near target weight and to say I need to lose another stone is being pretty lenient on myself! Ah well. But definite metabolic resistance coming into play now. (Starts to grudgingly consider more formalised sort of exercise...)

oggsfrog · 15/06/2007 15:17

I must admit that I too am very lax in the exercise department.

I used to walk uphill for

Congratulations strawb!

And on the weight loss too. White trousers - gawd I wouldn't dare, even at my lowest weight I have an ar*e like a super tanker

oggsfrog · 16/06/2007 07:22

Helllooooo

How's your head Strawb?

Is it general nursing you're doing?

I made it to the 2nd year of psychiatric nursing before I abandoned ship.

OK I am 5'9 and 14 on a good day and 16 on a bad so we are probably pretty similar. I got a really good swimming costume from Lands End (I know I know, I've read the style threads). But it doesn't 'arf hold one in...
I would like to be 14 on an average day and 12 on a good as that's as low as I know I can go. Reckon a stone would do it but can't seem to shift downwards now regardless or whether I'm strict or lax...I suspect the walking a mile to work from the station and back isn't enough.

Crotchety · 18/06/2007 12:02

Oh and tip for Pizza Express - have the salad nicioise but not the dough balls if you can help it!

Ha Sally you are the same height as me! I didn't realise. I have a huuuge backside - it runs in the family (not a nice image I know). Thin legs, reasonable waist..... massive bum! Also large chest measurement but not large norks - just a very wide ribcage. I hate it as it makes me feel like the bride of Hulk sometimes

Glad you have good time? i've been very very bad too. Haribo and chocolate and cream crackers etc etc. Doom and gloom and other bad stuff...

oggsfrog · 18/06/2007 14:39

Ooh I feel quite virtuous for once

I've been sticking to it apart from the odd vodka and diet tonic.

Who was talking about the Jason Vale Juicing Book? I've just borrowed it from the library and am sorely tempted to invest in a juicer now.

Fickle, moi?
