or have i got an excuse for being flabby? Question number one - I had a caesarian section (quite a few years ago) followed VERY soon by another pregnancy (one year age gap!) I've spent years believing that my flabby tummy is a result of the muscles not having got back to normal before getting pregnant again. My dp says that's bull! So is there anyone else out there who had a cs followed very quickly by pregnancy who's managed not to end up looking like a sack of potatoes. Hope so, cos i need some inspiration. And question number 2 - I've never seriously tried to lose weight and firm up EVER, and I'm now 40 something. Have I left it too late? Is it possible to seriously lose a couple of stone and firm up the flab?

Hi ebenezzer, yep I've done that. Ist 2 were sections a year apart, then there have been 4 other vabacs, the last 2 15 months apart, last baby is 2 months old. I think each time it has been a bit harder to get back into shape. Exercise wise I absolutely swear by doing 'callanetics' it's an old exercise routine devised by a mad woman in the 80's, it's about doing deep muscles exercises, no CV ones. It REALLY works
You certainly haven't leeft it too late!!
The great thing about callanetics is that the results are QUICK, you will firm up very quickly. It's hard work though, but hey no pain no gain, good luck

Kittywit, where can i find out more about the callenetics?

sarz · 10/06/2007 22:57

ebenezer, perhapes you cold try a personal trainer, just for a couple of times so that they can give you something to do and you will be shown directly how to do it.I always find it easier if i do exercise with other people because i will not want to let them down so will definatly turn up etc, maybe some of your friends will be your exercise buddies?!?!?

Ooh yes, tell us more about callenetics. Is it something i could do on my own at home? Does it need equipment?

I did callenetics late eighties and it does work - is it still all the old tapes kitty or have they brought out new stuff?

kittywits · 11/06/2007 07:35

Furball, there are different ones now, but I think it's all variations on a theme!
Have a look on Amazon you'll get a good idea from the reviews here and ebay sell dvd's
