I've lost nothing this week

baby has been feeding excessively and whenever she does that I dive for the junk food. will rejoin when baby's growth spurt has ended...

Metrobaby · 23/08/2004 14:01

Ooo - Tvigernator. You are back with a vengence I see

I lost a pound this week. Unfortunately the biscuits, cakes and chocolate has been calling. This is due I reckon to the the same growth spurt as Fennel's (our babies are the same age exactly).

I joined ww last week (1st weigh-in 2morro) and i think I am losing weight, a couple of pounds last week i reckon. Accordng to my scales though, since the start of lactating losers i have lost 7 lbs! which I'm pleased with. Hope ww weigh in goes well....

Hi all..stayed the same this week blipped out at weekend at mumsnet summer party lovely food no good for diet also bbq on Sunday..back to it today good luck everybody for this week

Bozza · 23/08/2004 21:39

I've lost 2lb this week. Actually am finding posting on here a bit of a motivator. I've started trying to walk more with the pedometer thing. On that thread they are aiming for 70K steps a week. Last week I managed 48K but its made me think. As in parking at far end of car park when I go shopping, things like that. In fact one night last week I was desperate for a bar of chocolate so walked to the petrol station to get it (mile round trip) but a storm materialised out of somewhere and I got drenched. I've been eating more fruit and pumpkin seeds and keeping less of the dodgy stuff in the house. Also this week bought weightwatchers wine (much to DH's amusement).

BTW DD is 14 weeks and still exclusively breast fed.

Bozza · 23/08/2004 21:40

Means I am down to 10 stone (well 9 13) which was my first target so am due my first treat.

Hi......
Don't want to dishearten anyone BUT....I've reached my target!! I am now back at 10stone which I've decided is a very healthy weight (I'm 5'10" tall)........am so pleased!!!
How have I done it?.....well I'm not 100% sure to be honest. Very carefully controlled portion sizes, lots of protein to balance my carbs (my lesson from my Gestational Diabetes), and trying not to snack. I've also been going to the gym thanks to the motivation of my fellow lactating loosers, which has helped me shift the last 5lbs.
DD is 8.5months old so I think there is a lot of truth to saying that it takes you as long to loose the weight as it did to gain it. I've lost a whopping 41lbs (think that's 3 stone) since giving birth last December.
Wishing you all smaller tummies and smaller numbers on the dreaded scales. I'll be checking in on you to see the progress!
Good luck!

Oh - and as Bozza said, we also threw away all the nice food in the house and have been on brown pasta, brown rice and wholegrain bread. No cookies to be found. No chocolate to be found.
My one weakness is baking cakes (see......if I'm determined I can manufacture my own evil food!!!), but I limited myself to 1 small slice a day.
DD tried the choccie cake I made last week and it kept her up all night....won't be making that one again (good thing really as it contained a can of condensed milk, 4kgs of butter and the same of sugar....naughty Nigella!!).

i can't believe this... but I'm really nervous about my first ww weigh in tonight!
Is anyone else doing ww... only I am finding it hard to actually eat as many points as they told me to.... they said to eat 24-28 points, but I'm in the 10-12st bracket (non-breastfeeding is 20 points). The most I've eaten in a day is 22.5.... will this mean that I wont lose weight cos my body aint getting enough? I'm not hungry!

Skara · 24/08/2004 12:58

aha, the return of the twig
Well, climbing out from nder my diet stone I cna proudly say that I've managed a whole week of no sugar in my diet! Read a book called 'only fat people skip breakfast' by Lee Janogly all about how to break the binge-diet-binge cycle and she suggests starting by cutting out all refined sugar from your diet. It's made a huge difference to how I feel, and even with eating LOADS to make up for the lack of chocolate I've lost a pound this last week. This week's mission is to start eating more low fat stuff too, so I'm trying to break myself into healthy eating mode gently as I've got another 3 months before we introduce solids and so I don't want to starve myself while exclusively bf. So I'm feeling quite cheerful about the whole thing at last

V impressive weight loss Mit and I agree, the 9 months up 9 months down theory has worked for me twice and I expect I'll be back to normal by next March (in time to wear swimsuit on holiday I hope )

Spod · 24/08/2004 19:05

just been to ww, i lost 4 pounds last week! hooray!

Skara · 24/08/2004 23:17

well done spod

Metrobaby · 26/08/2004 13:07

Wow - well done Spod, skara and mit.

I've had a lousey few days and been eating loads of chocolates, cakes, crisps and biscuits . I've suddenly deveoped a huge craving for them. Not helped either as I'll be going out for meals tonight, Friday, Sunday and Bank Holiday monday too.

I reckon my next step is to purge the kitchen cupboards of all the naughty food now. I can't be trusted.

Spod · 26/08/2004 22:39

I've eaten loads over the last 36 hours... baby is feeding so much all of a sudden....
