Weighing in at 11st 12lbs 6oz this morning after a few months of barely any exercise and eating shit. I should be 1st lighter and I hate that I am just a big ball of self sabotage.

Line drawn from today. I need to be more active in general as well as getting back to training in the gym regularly. We are tying for a baby and I really don’t want to start off from this point, I need to feel much fitter.

So for starters I’ve just walked DS to school instead of dropping him in the car and will do the same this afternoon, I will do this every mon and thurs, which are the days I take him. That’s 40 mins of brisk walking as DS was on his bike. I’m going to do a gym class this evening too.

Will plan out food for the week this afternoon once I’ve finished work.

I’m mainly writing this for myself, even if no one else reads it I want to feel accountable to someone/thing.

Feel free to join me!

How tall are you? That weight would be fine if you're 5ft 6" or 7

I’m 5ft 9ins.

It’s top of healthy weight if you look at BMI but I am flabby at the moment and I hate it.

Probably a size 10-12? Sounds good to me.

Typically a 12 although no boobs but big arms so nothing fits well on top.

Small waist but big arse and legs so again nothing fits well.

To be honest it’s not really about weight per se but I know I’m carrying more fat than I’d like at the moment and that’s the issue. It sticks to all the wrong places, especially my arms.

I just want to write down somewhere that feels ‘accountable’ what I’m doing so that’s what this is really.

a few months of barely any exercise and eating shit

This is as gooder reason as anything you decide to change your lifestyle, regardless of what it says on the scales.

Worth knowing some other measures of being healthy, aside from BMI:

  • A waist measurement less than 31.5 inches
  • A waist:height ratio of 0.5 or lower
  • A waist:hip ratio of 0.85 or lower
  • to do at least 30 minutes exercise 5 times a week, to include strength send cardio.

Everyone should be aiming for sale of these as a minimum.

And even if you tick all these healthy boxes, it's also worth remembering that a healthy BMI is a big scale. So there is nothing wrong with aiming for any BMI between 18.5 and 25. A BMI of 19 or 20 would be super slim, but not unhealthy. So go for it!

Exactly FATE.

For me it all hinges on the exercise. If I’m not getting to the gym my enthusiasm to eat well disappears!

But I’m currently in the throes of meal prepping for the week and off to circuit training tonight.
