I've been exercising for the last year, trying to eat healthier and generally look after myself better.

For the past few months my weight loss has plateaued so I stopped focussing on weight loss and started thinking more about how I just feel healthier and less ill. I put away my scales as I was just getting depressed seeing the same numbers no matter how health I ate or how much I went to the gym and it was starting to bring me down.

For the first time since mid July I stood on my scales tonight and I'VE REACHED MY TARGET WEIGHT . I'm actually slightly under it. My bmi is now in the healthy green range. Yes, it's near the top of the healthy range, but it's there!!!!

Can I just twirl around mumsnet doing my happy dance?

That is just fantastic. I will not be near mine for a while. But positive stories like this help. Well done

That is amazing! Well done for all the hard work and changes!

I’ve done similar to you this year by just trying to look after myself better. I’ve lost over 2 stone in the process. I’ve worked out that if I lose 1lb a week until Christmas I will be about 4lbs under my target weight. I know I can do that, it’s the best feeling!

Happy Happy Dance!

Yay! Very well done Star

IsThatYouPaul · 09/09/2018 21:53

Well done you!

Going by how you feel, rather than what temperamental scales say, seems to be consistently the better message.

Do that happy dance with pride Star

MyNameIsJane · 09/09/2018 21:58

Well done!

That's absolutely brilliant! A healthy BMI is my dream too, many many congratulations at keeping going.

DragonScales · 09/09/2018 22:08

I keep popping back into the bathroom to stand on them. Then I grin like a complete idiot.

I hated those scales earlier this year. Between April-June I lost only 0.5kg. June -July I just stayed the same. Somehow the last 3kg have melted off since then.

I am officially under 70kg and officially under 11 stone. AND I now have slight muscle definition in my arms.

Awwww!! Well done you that's amazing!! Doing a snoopy dance on your behalf! 🙌 👌😍

bluetongue · 11/09/2018 14:03

Congratulations Smile

I’m right on the edge of normal BMI after losing over a stone. I can now stand on the scales and see numbers in the 50’s (59 kilos) for the first time in years. I’d still like to lose another couple of kilos but pretty happy for now. I did it still eating chocolate most days as well!
