I’m 5’2 and for some reason over the last 6 months or so Iv put on weight. 8lbs. No reason why. Had a very stressful time last Summer and lost 1 1/2 stone without meaning to. I was very poorly. Then December put it all back on and more. No I wasn’t eating crap. I was eating what and how Iv always eaten since I turned 30. The problem is I can’t get my weight back down. Iv been eating 1200 calories a day max for over 2 weeks and haven’t lost anything. Iv been weighing and tracking calories. Always do 12k steps. I can’t get to the gym or run (wasn’t doing either of those things before anyway) I am vegetarian and eat well. Plenty of fruit and veg, don’t eat pasta, bread or potatoes as Iv limited those all through adulthood as gives me stomach ache. Don’t eat much dairy and the last 2 weeks really reduced the amount of sugar I eat and have had no cakes or chocolate etc. Yes this has made me feel better and belly isn’t as bloated but not made a difference to my weight.

I know the less you have to lose supposedly takes longer. I was 8’10 and now 9’4. Ideally I want to be 8.7 stone but would be happy back to 8’10. Anyone similarl?! Not sure what else to do to shift it? Until recently was having granola with either almond milk or high fat yoghurt for breakfast. Have tried just having a banana for breakfast. Iv been doing the 16:8 the last 2 weeks aswell ....

If your short and not a lot of weight to lose how do you do it?!

I'm struggling!
I'm 4ft 11 and 9 stone - i've gone to a size 10. When I got married 3 years ago I was a size 4.
I was running every other day then, doing weights etc and damaged my knee, I now cant walk stairs or slopes without my knee swelling which has put a stop to pretty much all exercise.
My portion sizes are large, and I was drinking 2-3 glasses of wine a night, which I have stopped and instead have one gin and a tonic water, seeing absolutely no loss of weight though.
I bought some 'boom bod' in holland and barret yesterday with the hope it will get me eating smaller portion sizes.
All weight is on my thighs, hips and tummy which I hate
I'll gratefully take any advice and motivation going!!

Iv done boombod. The idea is the gel stuff fills your belly. So if you’re someone that only eats because you’re hungry as apposed to eating because you want to then it’s ok.

first one down the hatch - it's a bit tummy gurgly, within seconds I'm burping!
Thinking about why I eat...I love food, love tastes and flavour. I'll be starving around 10am when I have breakfast. Lunch I can take or leave depending on whats in the house, yesterday I went to the bakery, with fresh rolls in the house I know I'll convince myself I need lunch. Tea I am always hungry regardless of eating lunch or not.
I do know if I serve less on my plate I eat and don't need seconds, if I fill my plate I eat it all so I really need to get in the habit of giving me a smaller portion.
Typical day (since i've been trying to loose weight):
3 eggs scrambled for breakfast no toast
Lunch would be a cheese and ham roll stuffed with lettuce and cucumber
Evening meal, my biggest issue - high in carbs and meat, low in veg. spaghetti bolognaise, lasagne, curry, chicken pasta bake and HUGE portion plus a gin and tonic
Every other night my husband will bring home a bag if minsterals or buttons which I'll eat to myself
Writing that down it's kinda obvious what needs to change :(

Ilmb · 07/09/2018 08:35

You could make changes to those meals if you wanted to. Eg courgetti instead of spaghetti, aubergine layers instead of pasta in lasagna, bulk things out with veg?

I’m the same with what you’re saying about minstrels etc but Iv stopped buying stuff like that so it’s not in the house and not at risk of eating! Same goes for me with big bags of crisps!

This is me! I’ve lost over a Stone since March but now seen to have stalled. Annoyingly my weight is now just into the overweight category and even worse would have been ‘normal’ BMI until a few years ago when they changed the guidelines.

So many people say to me ‘is that all you’re eating?’ without realising that when you’re short and trying to lose weight you really can’t eat much. Most of me is looking pretty good but I have a belly that seems to be stubbornly hanging on Sad

blue for me it’s atomach too!

Try the Keto way of eating op.
You will lose the bloated belly and definitely lose inches.
