I've read if you don't eat breakfast, it can slow your weight loss down. Is that true?

I think it's nonsense
Fasting is increasingly popular (like 16:8 diet) and missing breakfast can give you a chunk of time fasting fairly easily
It is a bad idea missing breakfast if you get so hungry that you eat a load of calorific rubbish late morning as so hungry though!

I've lost 3 stone. I do far better when I eat breakfast. The fasting thing I've previously tried and couldn't get along with. For me it was a case of finding a way of eating that I enjoyed, could sustain and that fit in with the family. I wanted the weight loss to stay off iyswim, rather than doing yet another way of eating that I could only stand for a month.

It depends on you. Some people find eating breakfast opens the ‘floodgates’ so to speak and are hungry from them on, so not having breakfast is helpful to them.

Some people like me find a breakfast (porridge, eggs, fruit & yogurt) helps to keep me on track and not reach for the biscuit tin come 10am.

I don’t belive not having breakfast would slow down your weight loss

I think different things work for different people and I also think the "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" has largely been disproved by now.

I do eat a small breakfast every day and didn't find any particular issues with weight loss, but I agree that some people find it opens the floodgates and it just makes them starving an hour or two later.

Many aspects of dieting are just seeing what works for your own metabolism and particular tastes.

Yes everyone's different BUT if you feel hungry (properly hungry) then you should eat. I've lost three stone with Paul Mackenna who says that about feeling hungry.

I find if I eat late in the evening then I'm hungrier in the morning. So I don't eat anything after 7.30. pm and sometimes can go till about 10 am till I feel hungry. (I always drink water and or herbal teas, occasionally a hot soya milk drink, though).

Some people say it kick starts the metabolism.
