Are having ketones in your water good or bad?

Hi

Just been to docs for a check-up and she said I have a high level of ketones in my water. When I asked her what it meant she said, it is body fat....

So I think this is good, for weight loss, right????!

cheers!

thought it meant you were fat burning

what diet you doing? this is normal for lighter life and cambridge diet

WigWamBam · 05/06/2007 18:36

It can mean diabetes, among other things. Are you being referred for tests?

rhysmiamum · 05/06/2007 21:17

hmmm, no not being referred. However the sample was a first morning one and I hadn't had anything to eat or drink. The doc knows I am losing weight and she didn't comment any further. Little worried now.....

I not any of the things listed on the link given, quite healthy I think????

Might have to go back for reassurance,,,perhaps buy some of those testing sticks myself.

I follow Slimming World and I did lose 6lbs this week after drinking loads of water eating super speed foods etc...

Thanks for you help..!

If your on the atkins diet then good.
If you are insulin dependent diabetic then bad.
Otherwise it means your dehydrated!
