Exante VLCD 1st time on one

Hi all I’ve decided enough is enough and I’m going to do a Vlcd (Exante).

I’m currently 104kg am I’m only 5ft 3 so my bmi is almost 40 which is shocking.

I’ve bought a 4 week bundle to start with.

Just wondering should I do light exercise on this plan as well as normal daily activities such as house work daily walks.

I mean I can’t do major exercise any way as I’m recovering from an operation gone wrong but that’s another story.

Has anyone done it and kept the weight off and what were your secrets and tips to keep motivated.

Thanks in advance x

Good luck mum! I am starting soon, will be spending this week reducing my carbs in preparation.

I had an awful weekend where I couldn't find anything to wear and tried some stuff on in a changing room and could have cried. Full length mirror and the full horror of my lardiness hit me, thank god love is blind as my hubby still thinks I am great, I was less than.impressed with my image.

I have reverse anorexia I think, where I believe I am a curvy voluptuous siren rather than dumpy and frankly fat. Good luck keep us updated!

Sorry didn't answer you question, gentle exercise like swimming and walking is fine. Suddenly taking up cross fit probably isn't a good idea! I will be gently walking - getting a dog yay😁 and starting swimming again.

Mumofthree92 · 20/08/2018 22:56

I won’t even go try clothes on in a shop because of the mirrors I’m to mortified.

I would love to go swimming but can’t juggle time and childcare.
And it’s quite pricey when your on a tight budget, took me long to save up to buy this Vlcd lol.

I just can’t wait to be able to play with my kids without being in pain.

I was thinking of getting a dog but can’t decide what breed to get and there’s the money side of things, maybe one day when I don’t have to push a pram anymore, but at the moment the acts like my Zimmer frame lol

Good luck with your journey I will be starting mine in the morning.

Will defo keep you updated plus it’s nice to talk to someone who is going through the same thing.

Smile

Don't start exercise until you are used to the plan. You will probably feel tired and hungry at first but you soon get used to it and for most people the hunger disappears and you start to feel quite energetic. That is because your body is getting energy by burning your body fat. It can take a few weeks to fully adjust to the plan so just try to rest till then. After that it's just light exercise unless you increase your calories.

Syfychannel · 21/08/2018 07:01

Just to add exante officially say no more than 20mins light exercise then you need to start eating back any extra calories you burn through the exercise. So I think if I was you I'd stick with your daily walks and do a simple home toning exercise routine that is not too intensive at first. If you do want to do more than that later then you need to eat a low carb meal or an extra pack. I have tried doing some quite long walks and I found the hunger kicked back in and I ended up having to eat something.

My back hurts, my knees hurt and I struggle with my flexibility. I know that loosing weight is the key, I am fed up of hurting, too. Good luck today. I have done this diet before and I try to get into ketosis first by eating low carb, high fat for a couple of days, it makes the transition easier. I usually eat tuna and mayo or chicken salad with mayo for a couple of days. The fat and protein keep me full fir longer.

My top tip is, dont give in, the first little nibble of something is a slippery slope to falling off the wagon. Every time I am tempted to eat something I try to image how sad I will be in the morning when I wake up and realise I have blown it.

Also keep busy, tidy drawers, sew something, clean the skirting boards - anything to keep your mind off food.

There is a stall somewhere between week 2-4 dont let this put you off, your body is loosing inches if not weight.

If you wobbly bits get more squishy and look worse in a few days you will have a whoosh and suddenly be down 3 lbs.

When your period is due you will gain or stall but this is just water, dont panic!

I cant weight any more than monthly as it messes with my head.

I just need to take my own advice now! I find having a set deadline helps as its a hard way of loosing weight but actually when you go back to food you will find this was the easy bit as you just don't eat anything other than your packs so its simple, no thinking or counting.

Dont let yourself get too hungry but start your packs as late as possible.

If you have to eat say at an event eat a tiny amount of chicken and something green but no carbs. DO NOT DRINK, it gets you wankered, makes you really ill, really quickly, ruins ketosis and is dangerous.

Good luck with today.

I started yesterday too. I bought the packs a few months ago but wasn't in the right frame of mind.

I did a week of low carb last week in preparation. I intend to have my first pack around 12pm and use 3 a day.

Yesterday I had a bar and 2 savoury packs. today I will brave a shake. I didn't order any soup but will get some in my next order.

I am going to keep really busy by gutting the house over the coming weeks. I also intend to go for a daily walk. We shall see

Good Luck.

The shakes are nice if you like milkshakes.

Can I join in?
I have about 6 stone to lose and finding it hard now I've hit 50 and menopausal!

I was inspired by the threads about exante and knew I needed to do something radically different to my usual slimming world or weight watchers.
I've done the 2 weeks meals for £35 deal to start me off, I figure the cost will be covered by the reduction in our shopping bill.

How is everyone getting on?

My order should turn up by the weekend so I'm planning on starting on Monday. I may needs lots of support to stick to it (I'm so weak willed).

Those who have done it before, what was your average weekly weight loss? I'm hoping to shift 21lbs by mid-October - am I being unrealistic?

Good luck to everyone giving this a go.

Mumofthree92 · 22/08/2018 13:25

Hi well I was going to start them the other day but I ended up going to a+e with my eldest daughter. So that put a hold of my shakes plan was there most of the day.

She’s all well and nothing major was wrong thank goodness.

So my plan is now to start next when she’s fully better and everything isn’t back to normal whatever that is lol.

But I’m loving the comments and tips it’s really inspiring. And will be updating my weight on a weekly basis.

Plus anyone can join this convo the more the merrier

Good luck everyone xx

Started today with a cookies and cream shake at 8am and a peanut butter bar for lunch at 12pm. Wasn't starving when lunch time came, I actually usually fast til 12pm and do a 1200cal diet by eating 2x 600cal meals but I am usually very ready for my lunch when its time! So at least with having a shake in the morning I don't even think about food come lunch.

The shake and bar were delicious by the way! I don't have much to lose, 10lbs or so to get to goal weight but as I said i'm already on 1200cals a day and its just not shifting.. so trying out Keto with exante.

Op have you thought about when to start?

Mumofthree92 · 23/08/2018 13:20

Hi thomlin I was planning on starting 2 days ago but my daughter has been ill so I will be starting next week on Wednesday she should be well by then.

I don’t usually feel hungry until lunch anyway so I should be alright with the 3 shakes a day it’s just getting over the first few days, whilst cooking meals for the kids that will be the tricky bit for me lol
