Breastfeeding and weight loss

Hi, just wondering if anyone had any experience of losing weight after stopping breastfeeding?
My LO is 3.5 and feeds at least twice a day, sometimes 5 or 6 times if unwell or is upset for any reason.
I seem to be holding on to a few extra pounds and wondering if these will drop off slowly once he stops feeding completely.
I only gained a stone in pregnancy and reverted to pre-pregnancy weight as soon as I gave birth then lost a few more pounds in the first few weeks as had no appetite. Then extra weight slowly crept on despite being very active and I'm now 10lbs heavier than when I got pregnant (that weight was my lowest ever though)Sad Age is a factor I'm sure as now over 40.
Any experience anyone?

I did lose weight when I stopped breastfeeding.... but I think that it due to the fact that I was constantly starving when breastfeeding so was snacking more. When I stopped my appetite got back to normal and the weight I gained came back off.

I hardly lost any weight whilst breastfeeding as I was always constantly hungry. As soon as I'd stop my appetite would decrease and weight would come off

I found the opposite. Weight fell off me when breastfeeding but when i stopped it I was left with a crippling biscuit habit and no one to suck the calories off meGrin

@CocoDeMoll 😂 I had a massive chocolate hobnob habit at first but now gone off chocolate as been unwell.

The majority is encouraging!

Watching - I got pregnant within days of stopping bf my first, so I've no idea but keen to know what to expect with DS2! I've lost quite a lot of weight by calorie counting whilst feeding but I'm dreading what my diet will have to be when I stop - 500 calories a day makes a big difference to my ability to eat cake without it hitting my thighs!!
