Just what it says really. I had a baby in March, had been on bed rest for 2 months before and as a result I gained around 3.5 stone. I am pretty embarrassed at how unhealthy I have let myself get! I still look heavily pregnant.

I had a c section so getting back to normal has been slow but I finally feel almost back to normal.

Pre baby I was very fit, had ran a marathon etc and was fairly slim. I've started running 2km twice per week as that's all I can really fit in at the moment and going for hour long walk each day but it's done nothing.

Any pointers or tips would be so greatly appreciated!

Track what you are eating - mfp or similar
Choose a plan that fits with you to reduce your calories - personally I like Blood Sugar Diet as basically what you eat is nutritionally high value - meat/fish and tons of above ground vegetables, eggs - but you may choose to calorie count, intermittent fast (? hard with a baby)
Your exercise rate sounds good!
I'm sure you'll get back to your former self
Good luck

Well your baby 's only 4 months old and you had a CS what do you expect? Grin. (ignore all the stupid celebrities and media who go on about people who get flat stomachs in month or less!) Take it easy, yes as the pp says your exercise rate sounds just fine!

I lost 3 stone with Paul Mackenna I Can Make You Thin it's brilliant, it changes our mental attitude and I have maintained the loss for years with it.

Thanks ppfruit I'll have a look out for that, DH stopped smoking with Paul McKenna so might be worth a go!

On another thread we were talking about the Michael Mosley book, The Clever Guts Diet. Here's what someone said (see pic)

Yup it's one of the easiest and most sensible ways to lose and keep off weight. Good luck!

Walking is your friend here, was the only feasible exercise I could do after my emergency C-section. I also find using MFP really valuable, and syncing my fitbit steps to get more calories - I don't necessarily use the calories, but psychologically it is good to feel like I have more to play with should I need to. Well worth a try. Most of all, don't beat yourself up! You have been through a major operation.
