SLIMMING WORLD - can you overeat???

I am a keen slimming worlder but my question is, do you think you can overeat??

I am eating all the right things, using SW recipes etc but I just have this nagging feeling that my big portions and constant fruit picking is probably slowing weight loss down if not stalling it a bit??

Also, how do you do the comfortably full thing? I always finish what's on my plate!

Cheers for any advice

I also do slimming world, but don't go to the meetings, i just do it myself at home. If what you're eating is free, you will still lose weight! Most fruit and veg will make you pee loads and so you kind of cancel it out! But yes, i eat loads, i never stop until i can't move! I love food!

Am quite interested in this thread, because whenever I have done slimming world, I never lose any weight, despite sticking rigidly to it.

I have had membership refunded because of this.

I also have a colleague who has had this. Does anyone know why?

Well it could be possible to overeat if you have a large appetite. SW is good but it's not a miracle worker it is still a calorie contolled diet, encouraging you to fill up on 'free foods' which are low in fat and calories. It encourages us to eat 'SS foods' which are foods of high satiety, which means we feel fuller quicker but for longer and it limits foods that are higher in calories.
I suppose the bottom line is, if you eat more calories than you are burning, whatever diet you are following, you will gain and not lose weight.

I just look at other diets like WW where you have to count every single thing you put in your mouth but I just eat and eat all day, healthy things yes but just non-stop munching.

Maybe it's time for a change in diet???!

Someone change my mind quick!

I'm sure there must be something that says you have to stop somewhere?

rhysmiamum - Don't change your diet, with slimming world you can pretty much eat as much as you like (free foods) and still lose weight.

If you end up changing to another diet and have to count everything out then it may work for a week or so but you will get fed up with it and end up eating to much.

Its frustrating when you know you want to be a certain weight and its taking weeks/months/years
I'm having abit of a negative day as feel like I'm never going to get down to my target weight but then I have to think of my alternative which is staying this weight (no, no, no!!!!)or worse putting more on!!!!! and it is keeping me going.

I do have days when I look back and know I have eaten so much (even if it is fruit) and think how could I possibly be losing any. But it seems to be coming off slowly and thats all that matters.

Thanks Gracie.

I'll stay on SW, I know I can't do WW or anything like that from past experience. I can't stand all the totting up all the time!

Just being sensible I suppose isn't it!
