Maternity leave nearly ending and still not a yummy mummy!

Started maternity leave saying that I’d give myself three months before I think about losing the baby weight, then gave myself an extra month and then another and another....nearly 10 months later and about a stone from my ideal weight.

I hate shopping for clothes as I am so insecure in my body as I was always a size 8/10 before becoming a mum. Now a size 12 and know this is an ideal for some, but it’s just not my happy size or weight. I want to feel like me again.

Want to lose a stone before my DD 1st birthday in October as we are throwing her a big party. Currently 10st 7lbs and would love to go down to at least 9st 7lbs. Plan is to cut down on carbs, calorie count and push myself to do some exercise.

The reason why I am posting is because I have tried to start a number of times and it has ended in a couple of days. I need some hand holding and support (cheer leaders welcome) to kick me up the bum and hold me accountable here. I am ready with my pom poms to cheer you on too if you want to join in!

I will post on here when I can in terms of progress and what I am doing and be accountable.

Wish me luck Confused Smile

I'm the same only a stone heavier than you!! My dd is 9 months old now so I can't get away with saying it's baby fat anymore, I think the nurse the other day made me feel awful enough to do something about it!! She told me I had a baby belly and asked if I had another baby in my tummy 😳
I did try the other week to cut all sugar out and had a really bad headache from lack of sugar did it for a week then fell back into eating crap!! I hope we can do it this time xx

Monkeysocks, let’s do it!

I’m with you on the tummy situation too Blush.

Shall we weigh in every Sunday eve? My DDs bday is exactly 10 weeks today, sounds like a good amount of time for us to still make a difference!!!

I almost wrote “I was thinking of of doing”, but no - I will be doing some hiit sessions from tomorrow. While DD naps I will do a session at least three times next week. How are you with exercise? I haven’t done any since I got pregnant, and even then it was more like once every three months as I traveled a lot for work.

I'm nearly 5 years in and still no where physically where I want to be. But good luck to you all. Hopefully you are stronger than I am.

Monkeysocks2017 · 29/07/2018 22:46

I don't really exercise if I'm honest but now I should get back into walking, I had a c section and felt quite a lot of pain up to about 6-7 months ( no excuse for the past two months I've just been lazy ) how much are you wanting to lose? I need to lose a stone to be at my heaviest before pregnancy and then another stone to be comfortable xx

TwinkleMerrick · 29/07/2018 22:57

I'm huge and I don't care. I was a fitness instructor before the baby and was always obsessed with my weight. Then my body did this amazing thing.....it grew a human being!! I'm far happier now a size 14/16 than i was when I was a size 10.

Although my knees and back aren't happy so I need to lose the weight for health reasons.

I only had my baby 2 months ago, I plan to do slimming world and slowly start going back to the gym. But I'm not pushing myself. It took me a year to grow that baby so it will probably take me a year to shift the weight. And even then I prob won't be as toned and slim, but I'm fine with that because I have a gorgeous little baby girl. Anyway skinny mums don't give as good hugs! Wink

toolateforbabyweight · 29/07/2018 23:01

I'm exactly the same as you OP, a stone heavier than when I got pregnant and getting married in a year and would love to lose 3 in total. DS is 8 months so no excuse either and start work soon!
I'm going to try Chloe madeleys body blitz but hoping I can be strict for the 4 weeks, I don't think I've ever completed a whole weekend on a diet before Blush

That’s how I felt Twinkle and it’s only now really that I feel that the looming of returning to work and trying to fit into my work wear will be difficult lol.

We were very lucky and conceived our DD via IVF so definitely am thankful to my body for putting up with that process and giving me our miracle baby. It’s just time for me to feel like me again.

Toolate- I know what you mean about not using the baby card anymore lol! Sounds great that you’ve got a plan to stick too. I don’t think I could be disciplined for an actual diet plan so just going to change things that I now I can (reduce carbs, cut out treats) and see where I am in a couple of weeks time.

Is it just me that on the first day of a diet wants to eat the left over roast potato in the fridge from yesterday’s roast?!! Lol. It will stay in the fridge until my husband comes home Envy lol

Feel your pain ladies, I would like to lose a stone too. I am back running after a recent mmc. I have three kids and still breastfeeding the youngest who is 17 months so tiredness definitely plays a part but I need to try and get the food under control. I put everyone else before myself, feed them all then think of myself etc. I had c- sections too which doesn't help the stomach situation😥

toolateforbabyweight · 30/07/2018 22:44

@jpclarke me too on the c section front, my stomach has this awful apron hang to it and I've lost any sense of waist I'm just a barrel now! Really hoping it improves as this is my real insecurity at the moment and think would look much better in clothes if I could sort my stomach and slim it down
