Weigh the same, but don't look it

I weigh the same now as I have done for years. (Pregnancies aside and a pre wedding drop of 10lb due to stress)
In fact I have weighed the same since I was 15 I am now 50.
I exercise regularly, not as much as in my 20's & 30's. I feel that if I want to still look slim and trim I am going to have to loose weight. It is odd, things must have just switched places
I know menopause can change your weight but mine is the same, but I am fatter. There is more spare flesh.
It is strange
Is this common?
Bmi is in healthy range, but still have plenty of spare flesh.
I need to do something my DH and DD have both noticed. I even brought some new scales just incase mine were wrong.., but no, still weigh the same.
Not sure if I just need to accept it as normal life . Ho Hum

Yes it’s possible. Your ratios of fat to muscle have changed but your weight has stayed same.

If you want to get leaner you’ll need to eat at small calorie deficit and build some muscle. Look into strength training or body weight exercises.

This post here shows people the same weight but considerably different body composition. It’s amazing how different people can look at same weight! paleozonenutrition.com/2012/04/25/what-does-your-body-look-like-on-the-inside-more-reasons-to-lift-weights/

I've lost muscle and gained fat as I got older, so expanding without much actual weight gain.

Thank you
So it is possible. Right, down the gym for me. I hope it won't be too hard.
I think up the strength training, cut out snacks and I should see a change. Fingers crossed
