Hi, I’ve recebtly gained weight, about a stone, over the last year or so. It has all, and I mean all, gone on to my tummy and I am now sporting a rather fetching look of wearing a rubber ring. The rest of me hasn’t changed.
If I want to lose a few inches off my middle has anyone got any suggestions for things that have worked for you?
I’m completely new to this and I know there’s all sorts online but I thought I’d ask for your experience.

What has led to the weight gain do you think? That will help to work out the best way of losing it.

A low glycemic load diet is good for weight gained around the middle and tackling insulin resistance. Adding in some probiotics (though homemade sauerkraut etc) and prebiotics would likely be beneficial too.

Lose the weight
It may leave a bit left on your belly but you can’t tone fat you need to be calorie deficient and burn it off

Toning your core muscles will help it look less obvious

Thanks for the replies!

Low glycemic? What does that mean?
Notthat do you mean low calorie diet and counting all the calories in everything?

This might help. High glycemic index foods make you blood sugar rise quickly, and lead to insulin resistance and weight gain (usually round the waistline). Cutting down these foods makes a big difference.

What has triggered the weight gain do you think?

I was very underweight about 2 years ago and I think the recovery and subsequent leaving of my husband and massively reduced stress have led to me going all ‘seize the day’!

Unfortunately it’s been seized around my middle and I have loads of things that fit fine on the bum and legs but will not button up at the middle....

I’m still counted as being in the middle of healthy BMI it’s just so out of proportion to the rest of me...

Would it be weird if I posted some photos to get some advice on exercise maybe?
