Right. I need a damn good talking to.

Not a case of falling off the wagon........more like doing a polevault off a speeding wagon and sitting down on the dusty ground, cramming gob full of chocolate, cakes, and chips and watching as the wagon disappears into the sunset

Am off now to hang my head in shame and beg forgiveness whilst indulging in a hot whisky, honey and lemon, as I've got a stinking cold and I feel like shit.

Daren't even stand in the same room as the scales let alone weigh myself at moment (I can feel their disapproval through the wall)

Bonjour everyone. I have been in France for a week scoffing pain au chocolat, tartes aux fraises, coffee eclairs, a lake of creme brulee, and no end of french bread. Plus a lot of shellfish to remind me what protein is. I regard this as a necessary carb up week ahem as I was a bit stuck before...the scales dont look too bad today but I know not to trust them.
So I shall join you back at boot club tomorrow Strawb and anyone else joining in.

Went to Normandy this time as we fancied a bit less driving to get there. Very nice but it rained a lot. So we finally got round to the Bayeux Tapestry and Mont St Michel. Excellent food though, which was part of the point of going!
And a lot of calvados.

Anyway - as I haven't been to tescos yet I have had to resort to a low carb choc bar for breakfast and will go and stock up later on! (Particularly on cream cheese for the OI scones which seem to be keeping us all on the straight and narrow now!)

OrmIrian · 04/06/2007 11:16

Well we had a good weekend which means I've been baaaaadd!

Now I've got IBS and I feel crappy. Serves me right I know. Too much wheat (and alcohol I guess). So easy to go back to being good when I know I'll stop feeling ill.

I got 10 sessions with a personal trainer from my family for my birthday (am 5ft 8 and 10st 10, size 12)
Was thinking of asking for them anyway, but before i did they voluntered to get them for me! Didnt know whether to be pleased that i got them, or offended!!
I had one session last week, and it was so hard i couldnt walk for about 4 days, and had to try not to cry when pulling up my trousers after crawling to the loo
i have had to write a food diary, which looks really good, because ive not written half the stuff i have eaten on it!
Because i only lost a pound n a week, she has booked me in for 3!!! sessions this week to 'kick start me'
so im not going to be able to move, and also its my best friends birthday on saturday and we are going for a chinese!
What do i do?? go, and not eat anything? go and eat EVERYTHING and then feel really crap about it?? HELP!

I am still in Ketosis after loosing 10 pounds, I have not lost any pounds in 2 weeks (been on Atkins for 4 weeks). Strip is very pink, I am exercising, 20 carbs or less a day, lost inches, whats the deal with not loosing any more pounds? I need to loose 15 more. How can I start loosing again. Please Help..............

OrmIrian · 04/06/2007 16:35

I don't know why this happens, but it often does. If you are losing inches does it really matter? However I would stick to to and it will work. Try not to worry about it and stay away from the scales for a week or 2. Are you drinking enough water? Especially if you are exercising. Should be at least 2.5 litres.

reobylisa · 04/06/2007 17:04

Thank you for your response. i am not really good about drinking my water. I have been drinking alot of green tea(lipton diet) and crystal light water flavoring. I also drink diet coke and about 1.5 cups of regular coffee per day. I think I may be getting hidden carbs from the diet drinks. My typical day is coffee in morning 2 tsp splenda, atkins bar. snack 2 hours later, atkins shake or SF jello and 2tbs whipped cream. lunch atkins shake or salad and blue cheese w protein. snack 2 hours later 15 amlonds or jello again. dinner protein, brocolli, salad or sliced tomato. after dinner snack almonds if I have not had them atkins bar or jello. My water and or diet drink is around 1 gallon ad day combined. I walk 25 min -1 hour at least 5 times a day. do some stretchin and light weights 2-3 days. I have done atkins before and lost 30 pounds with no effort or exercise.
Would benadryl make a difference?
Thank you for any helo you can give.

OrmIrian · 04/06/2007 17:10

Well the first thing I would say is to cut out all the Atkins product. The original diet allowed no processed foods and there are those cynics that say the Atkins marketing machine has betrayed the good Dr by seling so many fake foods. Generally although the carbs are low, there hold plenty of artifical sweeteners which have been known to stall weight loss, not to mention all the other additives. Most lc dieters tend to use them very occasionally.

Could you go back to first principles - cut out the bars and the shakes, cut out the sugar-free jelly. Stick to salad, green veg, fresh meat and fish, some dairy, and lots of water. Try it for a week or so and see if it helps.

reobylisa · 04/06/2007 17:15

Thank you,I will follow your advise and see what happens. I just hate eggs for breakfast, any ideas

OrmIrian · 04/06/2007 17:21

If you don't like eggs could you try grilled bacon and tomatoes or mushrooms, greek youghurt with strawberries (or any other berry fruit) or rhubarb. Breakfast is the hardest meal for most people but try thinking of the unexpected - breakfast doesn't have to be conventional. Chicken legs if you happen to like them. Kippers. Anything that takes your fancy.

oggsfrog · 05/06/2007 09:02

Gooooooood morning.

Yeee-ha! I've lost six pounds since last Tue.

Am definately back on track, and even thinking of tweaking it slightly to exclude cream as I've realised I can really shovel it down.

Last night I had a very creamy brandy coffee, accompanied by a small bowl of whipped double cream with splenda, cocoa and cinnamon added, and topped off with some more double cream poured over

Agree with Orm in that regarding breakfast it's best to start thinking outside the box... yesterday I had celery sticks filled with pate, and today I had a pork chop.

Is everyone back on track after the weekend?

Crotchety · 05/06/2007 09:36

Cheese and left over salad for breakfast this morning, although I now think maybe spring onions first thing is going to be hard to shake off for the rest of the day...

Crotchety · 05/06/2007 09:51

And congrats Frog on the 6 pounds! (Makes mental note to go off and neck down tub of double cream...)

oggsfrog · 05/06/2007 09:53

Thanks Crotchety.

I'm of your french sojourn.

Crotchety · 05/06/2007 09:59

It wouldn't have been the right place for you Frog - Normandy is full of cream and you would have exploded...

Get some ground almonds and knock up The Scones and then gorge with cream cheese. That might help.
