hi, very briefly - I'm almost 14st and have only managed to loose 16lbs in the last 14 weeks.

I'm due to be bridesmaid at a wedding in August and my dress has already been bought in a size 16! I'm still busting out of size 18's at the minute and though I have a mini gym taking over my sitting room (moment of madness a few months ago) I can't seem to muster up the will to put on my runners and get to it - any motivators out there?

Hi Abroller

Nothing overly inspirational I'm afraid other than I am trying to lose weight too (lost about 9lb so far) so know where you are coming from.

All I can say is just imagine how confident and lush you will feel when people compliment how wonderful you look at the wedding and the BEST feeling of looking in the mirror and liking what you see.....

Get on your gym for 10 mins - aim small at first so you will get that fab sense of achievement.....

Good luck hun.

Running is amazing for changing your shape. Last year I was 14 st, currently I'm about 12 1/2 and have now run three 10 k races (very slowly, coming nearly last in two of them). Also, I recently became appalled at how difficult I found sit ups, and started doing some sets at bedtime (50 sit ups, 50 leg raises and 50 crunchies), sounds hard but only actually takes a few minutes and you get better at it and after a couple of weeks I have seriously dropped a dress size to a 14, which i haven't been for ages, i can't believe it. Well done on your weight loss btw, fantastic. And think about how toned and lovely your arms will look if you get that mini gym thing going!

ah thank you both, congrats on your success. I've just done 15mins on the bike and heading for the threadmill now!

I think I've hit a flat spot where I'm not gaining but I'm not loosing either and just feel less motivated - anyway I'm off again before I get too comfortable in front of the pc.
