Why do I have no willpower?!

Unfortunately about 50lbs have crept on over the past 10 years. I’ve dropped 10-30lbs off and on over the years but those were during a miserable divorce, taking up smoking again (lost weight) then quitting (gained it all back) and other big events (pregnancy/PND).

I really need to lose that 50 and probably another 20 after that for my self esteem’s sake. My DH doesn’t help because he’s lovely and says he loves me regardless of my size (plus he is on the large side too but was already when we met whereas I wasn’t).

HOWEVER I derail myself. I have zero willpower, I find it really hard to discipline myself. Not just about this, about anything. I took up a class, found a ton of reasons not to go. Decided I needed to network more to grow at work, signed up for a bunch of events...but talked myself out of them. I’m definitely lacking in confidence but this needs to stop!

Anyone else been in the same boat and overcome it?

Ive ordered some slim and save. The products all seem pretty nice.

The moment I feel anything I eat. I’m quite an emotional eater.

I am too, I'm really quite stressed at the moment and I feel like I am just eating my emotions. How long have you be doing slim and save for - how are you finding it?

I've played at diets but hated them until I decided to try low carb. I log my meals on mfp to help me pre plan and I make sure I have 3 meals a day. I was very strict the first 2 weeks and now I let myself have the odd treat so long as I'm under 1200 calories (which I do easily without carbs).

I make a meal then add pasta, rice or potatoes for dh and dc.

I was eating bread a lot before starting this, Nutella sandwiches were my go to snack. Now I have less of a sweet tooth and a couple of squares of dark chocolate is satisfying (honestly never thought I'd say that!).

I love cheese so this diet allows me to include cheese and I'm naturally eating under 1200 calories without trying with this way of eating.

I've been on it since 24 June. I've lost 10lbs so far and another 10 to go, maybe a little more.

I really think it's about finding a way that works for you to eat less calories. I never feel hungry or like I'm missing out. Try a diet and follow it for 3 weeks. Once you've managed 3 weeks you're more likely to stick at it.

Re your dh, he may love you as you are but you need to do this for you. Good luck xx
