Want to interact with others and get support/motivation for getting healthier and active, and in the process losing weight. But I absolutely don't want to hear any "diet culture", calorie counting or unhealthy disordered eating promotion. Surely I can't be the only one? Sometimes it seems like every thread I click on is just full of upsetting, unhelpful comments that sound like they could have been lifted from a thinspo website.

Hey there Pixie! Glad to hear that you've decided your current situation isn't healthy - hopefully we can help you make happier choices that will be more fulfilling for you long term. It sounds like a lovely holiday and a lovely lunch. I'm off on holiday in a weeks time - I really can't wait! 😂

At the risk of being TMI, turns out I've been premenstrual for the past few days which explains a lot 😂 first time since getting the implant fitted so praying for nothing weird 🤞

Probably explains some of my general huffyness with not wanting to eat healthy or do any exercise 😂

CantankerousCamel · 28/07/2018 20:41

Yes fuck exercise when you’re due on. Makes me feel like crap.

I’m hopefully going to have my new belt before I lift again which will stop the ‘my insides are failing out’ feeling

CantankerousCamel · 28/07/2018 20:41

Am drinking cans of pimms and eating ritz crackers tonight.

argumentativefeminist · 28/07/2018 21:06

I'm hopeful for your belt Camel! Do let us know how you get on. Sounds like a great evening - I had a lovely citrus rice and chicken dish for dinner instead of the leftover dominos... but the pizza (and all the other contents of the fridge) is still calling to me from the kitchen. 😏

Hi pixie! Welcome. And yes, I think Mary Shelley was a pretty extraordinary human, all things considered.

camel fingers crossed for the belt. I’m hoping I’ll get home from holiday to a referral letter for a pessary fitting - here’s hopeful wishes for not feeling like our insides are falling out Wink

af one of my favourite things about breastfeeding and the minipill is the absence of periods. Be kind to yourself. Long leisurely walks do help with cramps (and the desire to kick people in the face - or is that just me?!Blush)your dinner sounds gorgeous.

I’ve just had a 3 course feast of salmon/lemon sole/fucking glorious chocolate torte. No swim today as it’s cold and wild and jellyfishy but a lovely windy walk.

argumentativefeminist · 28/07/2018 21:25

Thank you Verbena - I'm being very self indulgent and watching Hairy Bikers who I love. Their Best of British series is lovely and luxurious but it's after they had a big weight loss and health kick and they have some great little mottos. I also have the desire to kick heads, it's not just you - might try a long walk with my new audiobook tomorrow.

Also that dinner sounds lush! Some of my favourite ever things there 😍

Mmmmmmm fish and chocolate stuffs (in separate courses) is All Good

Driving to Arundel tomorrow

argumentativefeminist · 28/07/2018 22:34

Have fun Camel, it looks lovely there! Hope the party went well too and you get a nice nights rest 🌟🌟

Salmon & chocolate torte sounds yummy 😋 Also like the sound of pimms!

I had sweet potato mash, honey & mustard sausages and mushroom & onion gravy. And a lovely chilled glass of prosecco which led to chocolate cravings. Always seem to want chocolate when I have a glass of wine!

PixieN · 28/07/2018 22:39

The contents of my fridge are always calling to me lol 😝

legolammb · 28/07/2018 23:09

Welcome Pixie! I'm with you on being a bit Hmm about SW - if only they could ditch some of the weird rules as generally it's a pretty sensible plan. Always leads me onto disordered eating though. That dinner sounds delicious!

Gosh, not a healthy day today! I ended up having a National Trust scone with clotted cream and jam for lunch - it was delicious though, then a mini magnum for pudding after a burger and sweet potato fries.

Quite happy to get back to leaner fare tomorrow, but I have a friend's DD's birthday so I'll try not to overeat there.

argumentativefeminist · 29/07/2018 09:56

Morning everyone! 🌟 Food shopping today so I'm meal planning my lunches and a family meal with a dessert from my new Cheeky Treats cookbook (by Liam from Bake Off!). My brother is back from 5 weeks in Australia on Wednesday so it'll be a bit of a special week, which will be nice. Lovely and rainy here - might venture out for a walk later with my raincoat on!

Lego A National Trust scone is always my weakness too 😂

God I'm looking forward to the weekend being over. Bloody Domino's last night and a fry up yesterday morning. Having guests is crazy!

There are still loads of fry up left in the fridge and loads of leftover pizza. I am ignoring it all. I had both yesterday and before I'd have continued the hedonism till all were gone but not now.

I'm just glum cos we have to bring everyone out for a "naice" lunch and I've discovered I'm too fat for all my "naice" outfits. Can you wear Primark jeans to a Castle??! Confused

argumentativefeminist · 29/07/2018 10:22

Elspeth - it's hard being not really in control of what's on the menu like that, I find that when I'm at home from uni because my mum does most of the cooking. Well done on your change of attitude though, you're definitely making progress from what you would have done before! Sorry to hear you're upset about your outfits 💕 but I think jeans would be fine - nobody except you knows where they're from and you can dress them up easily with a nice top and accessories. At the end of the day, your friends want to see you happy, not your outfit! Hope it goes okay 🌟

ElspethFlashman · 29/07/2018 10:40

Thankfully the Castle lunch has since been downgraded to busy country house hotel. Seems I'm not the only one who didn't fancy getting too dressed up!

Phew!

AgathaTabithaBagatha · 29/07/2018 15:21

Sunday roast and pudding coming up later on. Feeling proud of myself that I went to Ikea and didn't buy pick n mix. Ikea pick n mix isn't actually that nice, but that's not stopped me before. Oh lord, am I going to be one of those people who says, "oh no, I couldn't eat a whole Creme Egg , they're so sickly!"? Shock Grin

How was the country house Elspeth?

argumentativefeminist · 29/07/2018 15:50

Same here Agatha! Restful day today, hopefully do some exercise tomorrow. But this week I've managed to do just as much exercise as last week despite feeling like I've done nothing - it's quite nice writing it all down as it's often not as bad as you think! Creme Eggs are their own entire food group so I wouldn't worry 😉

Pub roast with bread and butter pudding, pudding.

Indian for dinner... well we are on holiday!

argumentativefeminist · 29/07/2018 17:06

That sounds like my dream Camel! I'm feeling really good today, which is much more important to me than having done lots of exercise. Aiming for a yoga and 15ish minutes of cardio tomorrow.

OP posts:
PixieN · 29/07/2018 18:00

I did a dance exercise session this morning & went for a longish walk with DH. Made pancakes for breakfast, but only had two small ones & loaded my plate with natural yoghurt & fruit. Treated myself to tea & a cupcake after our walk when usually I’d have hot chocolate with all the trimmings & a larger snack. Tea will be the leftovers from last night. Trying to be more mindful with food & have a little bit of what I fancy. No idea how this will translate to the scales - good job I left them at home! Will probably have an Indian tomorrow night Grin

argumentativefeminist · 29/07/2018 18:03

Sounds like you're doing really well Pixie!! So excited for my first roast in ages tonight. It's so lovely and rainy 😂

Urgh, just back from a party and my friend sent a picture of our group of friends and my face looks huge! I miss having cheekbones - I used to get lots of compliments on them in my early 20s! Not a great day of eating due to 4 hours of travel to the party, and then birthday cake.

But I have a nice Waitrose easy to cook chicken in the oven and will have that with a big salad.

The roasts sound delicious - definitely autumnal vibes today. I've just been looking at ankle boots online.
