Want to interact with others and get support/motivation for getting healthier and active, and in the process losing weight. But I absolutely don't want to hear any "diet culture", calorie counting or unhealthy disordered eating promotion. Surely I can't be the only one? Sometimes it seems like every thread I click on is just full of upsetting, unhelpful comments that sound like they could have been lifted from a thinspo website.

Verbana just saw your message RE compression stuff.

I have some good tight leggings but everything else is too small for me :(

I need to just lose some pounds and then I can focus more on my abs and my body healing

Morning all.

A disastrous day yesterday food-wise. Had very late night on Wed, so decided the only way to cope yesterday was with M&Ms, Lucozade and Chinese food, all in vast quantities. Shock Blush

Today I'm all about the nourishment, had another 40 minute brisk walk at sunrise [note to self, must become a Druid or something] and will eat what makes me feel good for a while rather than fantastic for a few minutes. Grin

AgathaTabithaBagatha · 07/09/2018 08:12

Do you have a microwave at work Verbena? If I take homemade thick soup for lunch I feel more sustained than if I go for a sarnie or salad.

Since joining this thread my rule has been only fruit as a 'pudding' after lunch rather than crisps/chocolate. A fruit salad takes a while to eat, which helps me not to feel deprived.

argumentativefeminist · 07/09/2018 09:33

Good job getting back on track and not letting it get to you, Agatha 💕 I'm starting to really love fruit too, which has surprised me! Hoping to find some lovely markets when I go back to Norwich.

Congrats Camel! Hope you have a really lovely day and enjoy your lunch! 💕💕

How’s your day been everyone?

I’ve done four hours of sports massage, met up with some old mates in Byron burgers, got some money to buy the baby a proper thick sleeping bag tomorrow and eaten a slice of cake (have another slice ready to have later, with cream)

I’ve also done my CrossFit

Ive booked myself in to do CrossFit 5 days next week!! Hopefully will be a successful experiment I feel so good afterwards

argumentativefeminist · 07/09/2018 19:09

So glad you had a good day Camel! I've also met up with some old friends, which was lovely, and been shopping. Got some lovely snuggly jumpers and some smart bits for my new "workwear to uni instead of holey sweatpants" habit. Got salmon pasta for dinner then millies cookies 😍😍

Have walked a lot though so feeling quite active still! Starting to feel the effects of yesterday's swim 😂

Day 2 DOMS are the worst (I’m expecting them tomorrow after this week Grin )

Verbena87 · 07/09/2018 22:38

camel and af get some Epsom salts in your bath for achey muscles; lovely!

agatha good plan on the soup front. Maybe I will turn into one of those functional adults who does batch-cooking and stuff (will I fuck Wink)

CantankerousCamel · 07/09/2018 23:37

I had an Epsom salt bath last night with some new lavender soap and I very nearly fell asleep in the bath!!

Was lovely..

argumentativefeminist · 08/09/2018 07:54

Literally dancing with excitement. The restaurant that produced the amazing mountain of veg curry I had and told you guys about last weekend are opening a permanent stall at my uni. There's been very few healthy options before so I'm really excited!

Yum to curry! I love this one to make at home

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/aarti-sequeira/saag-paneer-spinach-with-indian-cheese-recipe-1927603.amp

You can buy paneer in the supermarket which makes it a quick tea, and it’s delicious.

Verbena87 · 08/09/2018 16:39

Also if you do the marinade with fresh grated turmeric root instead of powder it’s amazing (and it’s meant to be antibacterial/anti inflammatory as well so, you know, good for you and stuff Wink)

argumentativefeminist · 08/09/2018 17:17

That sounds amazing Verbena, thank you! How's everyone getting on today?

Verbena87 · 08/09/2018 17:23

Good thanks, been for a run in the rain Grin

CantankerousCamel · 08/09/2018 17:54

We buy fresh turmeric when we can. Have it in smoothies as it’s super good for you

argumentativefeminist · 08/09/2018 18:47

That sounds actually quite refreshing in a way Verbena! I've just been lounging around in my snuggly clothes. Did go to the chiropractor today though which really helps me.

Will definitely try some turmeric!

Some lovely meal ideas. Sounds like I need to try tumeric too! I’m having a very relaxed day finished off by watching Strictly in my pjs. Just about to make a cuppa and settle down with my kindle. My DH has gone off to watch the football. Bliss Smile

Verbena87 · 09/09/2018 21:29

For balance after my running posts, just reporting that I’m currently eating icecream in bed. Very nice it is too.

argumentativefeminist · 09/09/2018 21:43

That's my girl Verbena! 😂 tomorrow is back to school for my younger sister/constant shadow (In a lovely way) so hopefully time for some gentle yoga, a lot of treats, some uni work and some Netflix in bed. Very excited.

How's everyone doing?

OP posts:
Verbena87 · 11/09/2018 18:17

Shattered from work! My prolapse is being a pain today (definitely worse when I’m tired, and haven’t sat down since 8am!!) so just cuddling the little and loafing about for now - will have a bit of a stroll across the fields before bed to clear my head but no running today I think.

PixieN · 11/09/2018 21:49

Sounds like you need to take it easy Verbena Probably a good thing you decided on a walk rather than a run today. I’m feeling shattered too. Full teaching day and ready to collapse into bed now lol. Hope you had a good day Af

argumentativefeminist · 11/09/2018 22:42

Stressful day for me today. Back to school for my sister has meant a lot of anxiety and tears, and we're so close that it always sets me off too. Tomorrow is going to be hard for her, meeting with the senior college staff, so I'm hoping to take a break and do some shopping, and just have some time alone.

Back at uni this weekend, a few days settling in and then will be really starting properly on what I've begun over the summer. Hoping for two swims a week, yoga, indoor cycling, burlesque and some lakeside walks. Lots of fresh Norfolk fruit and veg and plenty of cheesy (literally) self care tactics.

Hope you both feel better tomorrow Verbena and Pixie! 💕💕

Verbena87 · 12/09/2018 08:31

Hugs pixie - the start of term is a shocker for tiredness (more so after a year’s maternity leave!) and I’m also trying to wrap my head round a load of new policies and software so feel like ‘the new girl’ again despite having been teaching in my school for 6 years. Hope we both settle into the swing of things quickly and relatively painlessly! (Being 3 day’s a week is helping, I must confess.)

af I’m sure your sister will soon be confident and full of how great it all is. Tell her her tutors will be just as nervous as she is!! (I teach up to a-level and definitely get the ‘oh god, am I good enough for this?!’ every September. It soon fades when you get stuck in - teachers and pupils alike!)

Day off today so will do some walking with tiny verbena in the buggy.
