Accountability thread - need to lose 7 stone at 5ft 1

So I am 5ft 1 and was almost 17 stone just over a month ago.

It is disgusting and I hate myself, and hate to go out as I feel people are looking and laughing at me.

I have lost weight before, a stone here or there, but then just stopped and put all that back on and more.

I want to be able to model a healthy lifestyle for my children. I come from a family that tends to be small as children then once they hit teens/early twenties we just pile the weight on until we are hugely obese.

So on the 19th May I was 16 stone 12.

Today I am 15 stone 13.4

I have been calorie counting on MFP and started C25k. Have completed weeks 1 and 2. I also have the Davina fit in 15 dvd so was thinking of doing one of the 15 min sessions on my non "run" days.

So, this is an accountability thread. Any other shorties with a large amount of weight to lose?

Keep up the great work! I treat myself with fresh raspberries instead of chocolate and that really helps me.

Thanks both, have been struggling the couple of times I have been out doing the C25k this week due to the heat!!

I have the Davina fit in 15 DVD and was thinking I might do that instead so I don't have to go out in the heat.

No. Don't give yourself an excuse not to go. In fact, do the run and the fitness DVD.... every day!

Go out early if possible, it's cooler and also easier to run on an empty stomach (ie before breakfast). Then it's done, out of the way and you can feel good about yourself for the rest of the day. I ran 10k this morning. 5k yesterday, 10K Thursday, 5k Wednesday, 10K Tuesday...

Im 5'3" (160cm). Short ish. BMI was 43.8 on 1st January when I weighed in at 17st 8.5 and started my journey to be healthy.

I was 14st 4 when I started C25K. I pledged to run every day though, no excuses. Finished within a month and started running 5K daily. It's just under 3 months ago that I ran for the first time ever with W1R1 of Couch to 5K. I now run 10K 3 times a week and 5K 4 times a week. I ran 200km, over 100 Miles, in June.

I have 4 children, youngest is 3 and I'm 42. There is no reason you cannot do this BearsDontDigOnDancing. Sensible eating, daily exercise. I'll join you in this journey Smile

Do that run tomorrow!

Well, in all honesty I do not have the time to do the run and dvd everyday, since I am out the house 5 days at work for at least 10-11 hours. I do make sure I get in 10000 steps everyday, and usually get to about 4 miles walked a day. Which is fairly easy as it is half a mile to the train station from home, half a mile to the next train station to get my connecting train, and the same the other end from train station to work. Then have that in reverse.

But both the C25k and the Davina fitness dvd say to have a day break in between exercise days?

However, yesterday I did the whole Davina dvd, and today will go for my run.

But after that I was thinking that on my non run days I will do one of the 15 min portions of the DVD, so the leg bit one day, the arms bit next day, core bit etc.

So run, core, run, legs, run, arms then give myself a day off.

I quite enjoy the C25k - the kids come with me and either come on their bikes and scooters, and bike back and forth with me. I want them to see exercising regularly as something that you just do.

But well done to you, you have done brilliantly. I sometimes wish I was already 3 months down the line and getting so much closer to where I want to be. You must be so proud of yourself. I would be :-)
