Eyeing up meal replacement shakes...

Any recommendations? Reviews online I’ve read seem to indicate that they are generally very sweet and I just can’t process sugary things very well (especially on an empty stomach).

I’ve just ordered Purition ones. I had a sample pack a while ago and they are pretty good.

Complan do meal replacement chicken soup which you can get on the high street and supermarkets.
Shake That Weight do lots of soups but I don't know where you can buy them from.
Celebrity Slim has a meal replacement soup assortment in Boots www.boots.com/celebrity-slim-7-assorted-soups-373g-10225180

Have a look at at Huel. They're not low cal as such, but they are very good nutritionally

Heratnumber7 · 02/06/2018 08:43

I've used Herbalife in the past, and considering doing so again. They aren't at all sweet.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 02/06/2018 09:07

Just tried a trial Forza (strawberry) - it does taste like flavoured milk and a bit sweet but I’ve not had the sugar shakes so not too bad. Hell, it’s sweet and made me feel really fill up.

I second huel

YouOKHun · 03/06/2018 23:09

Heranumber7 do you sell Herbalife? I’ve noticed you’ve mentioned it on another thread as well. Sorry, but I’m going to warn people off Herbalife - it’s a product based pyramid scheme therefore overpriced and buying it supports a massive scam that causes financial, social and emotional misery. Have a look at the film Betting on Zero or at MLMbotwatch blog.

Heratnumber7 · 04/06/2018 21:41

No I don't sell Herbalife!! What makes you think that? 😩

I realise it's a pyramid selling scam scheme, but I quite like the products and they work for me.

Despite the pyramid scheme, there's not such a hard sell as you get with Slimming World, IMO. Haven't tried WW.

Heratnumber7 · 04/06/2018 21:42

Prices are reasonable too.

(Definitely not selling!)

GetInMyNelly · 05/06/2018 19:45

I 3rd huel, you can actually completely substitute all meals for it. It's nutritionally fit for consumption and to live off.

gingerpickles · 05/06/2018 19:57

Another recommendation for huel. DH started on this and lost enough weight to feel comfortable about exercising again, he's now lost 8 stone and kept off of it. He still has a huel once a day.

YouOKHun · 05/06/2018 22:38

Sorry Heranumber7 just checking! A lot of MLM bots try and sell by stealth on here. I just can’t stand what that company has done to people - all that debt and misery. The hard sell depends which bot is selling it, some are subtler than others. Sorry, I’ve just got a big problem with MLM!

Heratnumber7 · 05/06/2018 23:15

I quite agree re MLM. I go against my own principles by buying Herbalife products, and wouldn't dream of buying Amway, for example.

HyacinthsBucket70 · 05/06/2018 23:18

Purition are very good, and if you've got the patience, try Protein Works and sift through the varieties. I'm diabetic so have to avoid sugar, and have managed to find a few low sugar variations on there. I use them if I'm not feeling like eating in the morning (Metformin makes me queasy).

argumentativefeminist · 05/06/2018 23:25

My favourite dieting aid is a excessive amount of self care, self love and acceptance. None of these things are going to give you what your body needs to stay happy, healthy and strong - well, may be huel but imagine how miserable you'd be eating that shite mush all the time. Diet culture is an absolute scam used to subjugate women and you deserve better.
