Is it possible to put on 0.5 kg (1lb) in one day?

Of course it has to be on the 3rd day of a week of reigning in and eating very sensibly too! Grrrr. It is not the weighing scales as I have just got a new one.
Shall weigh again tomorrow and hope the scales are more sensible!

Easily with water retention. Especially if you are exercising

Of course it is. Your weight can easily vary by about 2kg/4lb throughout the day.

Ha ha ha hell yes! I can put 2/3lb on!

I have been exercising each day. I guess I just expected it to go in the minus direction

A pint of water weighs 1 pound. Not all weight is fat.

A full bladder and Bowel can easily add up to over a pound

You can fluctuate 5 or 6lbs a day due to how salty your food was, how much carbohydrate etc..but it's not actual weight.

For weight loss you need to think more long term. Like other posters my weight can fluctuate by around 3lbs in a day, it’s so variable.
If you must weigh yourself, weekly is all that’s necessary!

I can often be about 4lbs heavier in the evening compared to first thing in the morning.

Yes of course, I’d probably be 1lb heavier after breakfast than before (overnight oats plus cup of tea weighs about 500g, majority is liquid!)
