Slimfast - anyone lost weight on it/use it?

Just started slimfast 1) to lose weight (obviously!) and 2) because it's simple - I used to not eat until dinner time most days anyway so it's easy to fit in some shakes. Anyway, is it any good? Does it work? Seems odd drinking all that milk to lose weight. x

But you're not eating anything else for 2 meals so 2 glasses of milk when looked at like that is not that much.

There must be some old thread lurking around to give you some ideas and thoughts.

I did it for four weeks at the beginning of the year and lost over a stone.

BUT - (IMHO) it's full of crap (sugar, etc), so I didn't want to do it for too long. When I gave it up, I found I had lost my "boundaries" and gradually just started eating more food, or eating less healthy food in greater quantities. The SF had at least given me strict "rules" to stick to, which helped me to lose weight.

I've regained about half a stone of what I lost though and am finding it very hard to diet again (although I defo don't want to do SF again).

Also - be prepared for a side effect - I think it should more accurately be called SlimFart!

slimfart - thanks Great you lost a stone, I am awful at sticking to diets so hopefully i'll stick this one out. It does seem full of sugar, but, I guess binge eating on chocolate biscuits is worse

Open a can of slimfast and pour into a glass. Leave it overnight and look again in the morning....it willhave almost solidified.

Yuk - the reasonyou feel full is all the gross cornflour etc they bulk itup with...

friend of mine did this to get rid of her "menopause bump" as she called it, it worked well for her, but at the end she started feeling faint and lightheaded and generally unwell, so it is not a nutrionaly sound solution.

3andnomore · 14/05/2007 15:49

Never actually done this myself, as it doesn't appeal to me at all and I don't think it's all that healthy...in the end it's de-natured processed food....!
Also, you will put it all on afterwards...because it doesn't really tackle the problem, it just treats the symptom.

3andnomore · 14/05/2007 15:50

Oh, I know that, because I know a fair few people who have done this, lost osme weight only to put it all back on, and some
