Has anyone crashed and burned this year? in previous years I have successfully lost weight ..this year I have regained some and I just can't get in to the zone of losing however much I try (atkins, potato hack, intermittent fasting, nothing "sticks"). I'm so angry and disappointed in myself, and disgusted by my appearance.

Ive been struggling too. I usually pull my belt in as soon as I reach a certain weight and get nose to grindstone.

Not this time. I have hit new highs on the scale one after the other and my will power has been nowhere to be seen. Ive been at a complete loss.

And after vowing Id never go on a VLCD - thats exactly what I started last week to try and give myself a kick start.

I am still struggling but at least I have a plan of sorts......

Hugs!! I know how you feel!

So, I do empathise.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply! I am really sorry that you find yourself at this impasse too, but I am grateful to know that it isn't just me. I hope we both find a clear (and easy as can be) way out of this soon. I can't go back to where I was, but I am fearful that I might.

@Winston - look at it this way. You have made the first step towards progress by acknowledging the problem and issues. Getting out of the denial phase is a huge plus. Star

I set a date to restart and failed miserably each and every time for weeks and weeks.....and I carried on putting on weight.

But Im still persevering. And reminding myself perfection is not necessary nor required. Just a few changes here and there to begin with can help in the long run.

Flowers for you.

Thank you, you are extremely kind, and it really does mean a lot to me. For you too Flowers

@ Winston - its horrible when we lose track of ourselves. And its easy to build up negative and self destructive feelings.

But.....we are still 'us'....our characters are still the same. Our values are the same.
I was going to say our personalities are the same....but, that can be ambigious. Im no longer as outgoing as i was, due to the weight. Sad but I'd like to think i will reclaim that.

We will get there!!! Star

Don't beat yourself up over this. It's mindset and if you're not in the right mind set you won't be able to do it.

Basically you need to want to be slimmer more than you wan to eat the food.

So when it comes to it you want to eat the food more than you want to be slimmer. It takes a lot of effort to lose weight and maintain it.

So ask yourself why do you wish to be slimmer? Is it you want it, or you think you should want it? Is it the sudden thought of summer coming?Whats causing uou to not stick to it? What's driving you? I'd also examine why you say "in previous years" which would indicate you're a yo yo dieter. Do you lose the weight and regain regularly? If so, that seems like a lot of pointless effort and you can maybe understand why you're not keen to do it again.

Ultimately though, if you're not in the right mindset, then don't attempt to lose it till yiu are. And you know when you're in the right mindset.

I'm also sure you look fine.💐
