Teenager putting on weight

I have a 13 year old daughter who's putting on weight because she's not eating properly. We have 3 healthy meals available and rubbish treats on occasion. She's skipping meals and then cooking herself a large bowl of pasta or cereal instead of waiting for the next meal.

I've always told my children that a diet is not about losing weight it's healthy way of eating. Nothing is bad, just some foods should be eaten moderately.

I've tried involving her in food preparation and decision making to improve her choices.

We encourage exercise for the fun of it and to stay fit, not for the weight loss side of things.

Her dad is overweight and doesn't want to do anything about it. Her brother and I are overweight due to bad choices and medication but we're both working hard on losing weight and improving our fitness.

Is there anything I can say or do to encourage her to change before her weight becomes a problem. Any conversations we've had up to now have been as a family.
