Losing 2 stone fast?

I need to lose 2 stone fast. My BMI is 34.5 and I'm horrified! Thinking about another pregnancy asap so need to shift it fast. Anyone had any success in a relatively short period of time? If so how did you do it?

Hello! I am also looking to lose 2 stone. I would love to have made some real progress by the time my holiday comes around in August.

I started Monday and I've been calorie counting, using my fitness pal and being quite strict. I haven't gone over yet (3 days in!) but have a busy weekend planned with a night out and two birthday parties so no idea how that will go Sad

I don't think it can be done particularly quickly. They say 3500 cals is one pound of weight. So that neatly divides by 7 to make 500 cals a day that you need to create a deficit for. It could be 500 through exercise, 500 through intaking less food or say 250 of both. You could aim to cut down by 1000 a day and you might lose 2 lbs per week but I don't think you can feasibly achieve any more so it's a long slow journey.
I'm also trying to lose weight at the moment, admittedly from a lower weight, and what I find helpful is having a good set of scales that show stone and pounds but also ounces as then you can see even small changes which is encouraging. I check my weight every morning (some don't like that, horses for courses) and even if it's not dropped by a pound, I can see probably the next morning, I will be.

Ketogenic diet; low carb, high fat. I lost 4 stone between September and January. Have been a bit more lax since then and am very happily maintaining weight loss without any issues. No calorie restriction. It’s all been very easy. Thinking of going strict again for the next couple of months to lose another stone pre holiday. Wish I’d discovered keto years ago.

Keto sounds interesting but I'm veggie - can you do it and not eat meat?

Yes. Dairy and avos are your friends. Plus it's a serious ramp up on the fat for the first couple of months until you become fat adapted then you don't need to eat so much fat as your body starts using fat stores for fuel. That's when you really lose fat.

I've been doing the fasting diet. To kick start the first month I've fasted 3-4 times a week and lost 11 lbs and in my second month I'm going to do it 2-3 times a week. It's been good because on the days I don't fast I eat the odd treat but don't go mad because I don't want to undo my good work. Hoping once I lose my desired amount of weight I can cut down to 1-2 times a week. On fast days I eat 500 cals and on nom fast days I don't really count but try to be healthy. I do have a treat like a crunchy or slice of cake too. I've also cut out alcohol this first month. My bmi was 26.5 to start so if yours is a bit more you'd probably lose more too!?

The 8 week blood sugar diet is good for rapid weight loss. I’m on week one day 4 so only just started but so far easier to stick to than I thought. But it’s worth reading the book first to understand the why and how.

Thanks for the ideas. There are so many different choices I feel paralysed and end up doing nothing. I really urgently need to lose weight for my health if nothing else.
