I'm feeling really guilty, I had a chinese tonight

But hey, whats life without the odd treat, its hardly worth living right ???

Have been really good all day and since my weigh in, and will be extra specially good for the week ahead - am I forgiven ??

Demented · 07/08/2004 10:35

Of course you are forgiven!

Can I confess to having a take-away every week since starting this!

Actually, a friend of mine lost loads of weight at WW last year, but she still insisted on her Indian every Friday night

MUMINAMILLION · 07/08/2004 10:57

Had my first person ask 'Have you lost weight?' yesterday. I know I've only lost 5lbs but felt like I'd lost 5stone! Fabulous. Has really encouraged me. That's what it is all about and what we all need - I love all the real-life comments on this site, knowing that you are not alone in this uphill battle is great. Congrats to everyone on last weeks losses and to ArtyAlex who did lose a lb!

bunnyrabbit · 09/08/2004 10:29

Sorry I didn't weigh in Dememeneted, had a nightmare week and forgot to email you. no weight loss this week. But then no weight gain either Will make sure I weigh in this week.

Demented · 09/08/2004 22:27

That's fantastic Muminamillion! Thanks for letting me know about Artyalex, I've had my Mum staying so haven't been able to phone yet, well done!

Well done Yorkiegirl!

I had a good day yesterday but today , I'm eating like a pig!

Made biscuits with DS1 and they are very yummy, I've eaten five of them over the day and I've had two Milkyways . Started off so well too!

OP posts:

and I've just spilled Diet Coke on my new size 12 jeans, as I looked down thinking that I had better behave myself tomorrow or I would have to be e-Baying them soon and getting 14's again, then splattered myself!

Can I have a proud moment? I'm feeling so pleased: I feel like a different person. We've been dieting for 14 weeks, I've lost 22 lb, and dh has lost ... wait for it ... 50 lb (and a half)!

But we've also totally transformed our lifestyles and eating habits, and are determined not to return. Dh goes to the gym 3 times a week, and we just eat a LOT less. Last week we went out for a meal at a favourite restaurant: I ate about half of my plateful, and was completely satisfied; I just don't need to eat so much.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support, I couldn't have done it without you.

I am now just trying to work up the courage to sort out my wardrobe and get rid of the clothes that are too big.

Please tell me to be brave. Tell me you won't let me go back there ever again!

bran · 11/08/2004 16:05

That's fantastic Rosin - you must be so pleased. Is that it now, or do you have further to go?

Definitely throw the old clothes away, be confident that you won't be using them again.

Demented · 11/08/2004 17:34

Well done Roisin (and your DH). Definately get rid of the old clothes (friends, relatives, e-Bay, charity shops, the bin). Most of my clothes are now size 12 so if they start to feel too tight I'll have to take control as I can't afford to buy any more.

am dreading tomorrow morning. big weekend with my sister and mum, including far too much alcohol, so expect to see a gain....back on the wagon today though....

we shall see...

champs · 12/08/2004 02:13

well done rosin.... second the advice to get rid of big clothes.
Demented-- Size 12!! excellent, well done to you too

Demented · 12/08/2004 14:01

Thanks Champs, it's just a case of trying to maintain it now. I hope to lose a few more lbs but won't be too upset if it doesn't happen, just mustn't put any back on again or I'll be soooo !

OP posts:
champs · 12/08/2004 16:07

How long have you maintained? it must be such a wonderful feeling.

I will soon be joining you all again.... I have been boycotting my scales but holiday 2005 will be here before I know it.

roisin · 12/08/2004 17:03

Well, I've done it, I've sent a load of clothes to charity shops.

I have yet to buy new trousers, as I'm still optimistic of losing some more off my bum and thighs, so am still walking around in very baggy trousers/shorts with a belt!

... and wearing skirts and dresses a lot.

champs · 12/08/2004 20:34

excellent!! have you got your eye on a pair? or are you just gonna go and have a look. cant wait till i need to buy smaller clothes. It will be great to go into skinny shops and not FAT ones

Demented · 12/08/2004 22:18

Sounds great Roisin, it's fab when you buy something in a smaller size, I'm still finding it a novelty, much to DH and our Bank Manager's disgust!

Champs, I have still be losing the last few weeks but it is very slow, I'm still at the higher end of my ideal weight range so another few lbs wouldn't go wrong but if they are not going to come off I'm not too worried, I'm just going to try and keep eating sensibly, keep on weighing in with you gals and see how it goes but if you see me lose 0lbs then I will be proclaiming that I am maintaining rather than trying to lose!

MadameButterfly · 13/08/2004 06:33

I have stayred the same for the last 2 weeks.

I am going on holiday tomorrow for a week so hopefully I will not put on

bunnyrabbit · 13/08/2004 08:58

Ooh yes I'm maintaning too!!!

No loss for me again. Not surprising really as I haven't been making much of an effort. Going camping this weekend (lots of beer!) and then I have 3 weeks till DS's birthday and I definitely need to get to my next goal by then.

BR

golds · 13/08/2004 09:18

Well done everyone, I too can't wait to be buying a smaller size, tried a smaller size on in ASDA yesterday in the hope of them fitting, but not quiet yet, lost 1lb this week, so makes 6lb in total.

My sister (size 10) is on holiday for 3 weeks (I think she has always prided herself on being smaller than me) I want to look different by the time she gets back, so I can at least feel proud and confident around her, without her looking at me like I'm no good.

MUMINAMILLION · 13/08/2004 10:32

HELP!!! Desperately need some encouragement to pull me out of the depths of despair! After all my gushing earlier on the week, just weighed myself and have PUT ON 2LBS! Can't believe it. Been good this week - do you think it is as a result of last weekend away (fried breakfast/icecream etc - ashamed to think of it now)?? Does anyone else find that what they do one week affects their weight the following week??

LunarSea · 13/08/2004 10:45

Hi MinaM - I definately get a delayed reaction - it's usually a day or two after, rather than immediately following eating things I shouldn't. (Except for having wheat, which seems to affect me much faster - but that's another story).

I've also started loking at a rolling total of what I've lost over the last 4 weeks, rather than one week at a time because every 4th week I really struggle to lose any, yet the week before that I lose more than I logically should (something to do with cycles there methinks) - you might find a similar pattern once you've been doing it a bit longer.

Down 3.75lbs for me this week - but this is the "good week" of the month and am due for that bad 4th week next week, so we'll see if the pattern holds.
