oh Jackie - will it make you feel better if I say that knowing you are struggling too makes me feel SOOO much beter . How horrible does that make me

JackieNo · 16/05/2007 15:43

Glad to help. I know what you mean though - it's strangely reassuring that other people find it all difficult.

Like the soon to be new name, by the way.

coppertop · 16/05/2007 15:49

Well done, Justamum!

It is somehow more comforting when other people find it difficult too, isn't it? I think if you were all losing weight every single week I probably would have given up by now.

This week I've been on the "Feeling-too-queasy-to-eat" diet so might have actually lost something this week. It's sad when a stomach bug actually seems like a good thing isn't it?

JackieNo · 16/05/2007 15:50

Oh yes - I always try to look on D&V bugs as a sort of enforced detox. that you've been feeling ill, though, coppertop.

EllieG · 16/05/2007 16:13

I have lost half a pound this week, though since I gained a pound last week that means overall I've gained half a pound. How complicated. How come I can gain a pound in a few days but it takes too weeks to lose it? Oh I am rubbish at dieting.

littlemisssensible · 17/05/2007 10:22

Hi All,

Having a so-so week thanks to the delights of organising solicitors, surveys, morgages etc.

BUT...to be positive I have lost the 1.5lbs I gained last week and I have managed to eat reasonably sensibly!

I was particularly proud of myself last night when we got in late (we were discussing finances with an IFA)and I really didn't feel like eating. I made myself have one of the standby freezer meals (a healthy aubergine bake!)even though I was thinking that if I didn't eat I'd be nice and light for this morning's weigh in! I'm amazed that I managed to take the healthier option and I hope that means that I'm beginning to beat some of the issues I've got with food [angelic emoticon]

Of course I'm bound to slip up again soon but at least I'm beginning to see a glimmer at the end of this tunnel

EllieG · 17/05/2007 10:47

Well done littlemiss!

coppertop · 17/05/2007 10:56

Well done, LMS.

EllieG - I know what you mean about how it takes ages to lose weight and about 5 minutes to put it back on. It took me almost a year to lose 11lbs and about 2 months to put half of it back on. I wish it was the other way around....

Thanks to my enforced detox I've managed to lose 3lbs this week. I've done b*gger-all to deserve it though so if 3lbs ends up being the biggest loss this week then Justamum should be the one to wear the crown.

Off to e-mail my results.

littlemisssensible · 17/05/2007 10:58

Thankyou Ellie,

Still feeling pleased with myself.....even though I succumed(sp?) to the company biscuit ration (they'd opened a new packet of cadbury's choccy biccys)

EllieG · 17/05/2007 11:16

But they are so good is difficult to resist. And you have lost this week so no need to worry.

whoopsfallenoveragain · 17/05/2007 13:50

HI everyone
Sorry I'm finding it hard to find time to come on here at the moment! with going to the gym and packing the house up for moving I seem to have drfited away from mn

I know what you mean about the biscuits I have just bought a pack of mini jaffa cakes and told myself I will just eat 10 today but I can hear the muffeled screams from them inside the drawer!!

Only an hour to test my will power & I'll be off home!

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 19:40

blimey - ridiculously I have lost a pound - thats definitely not right...

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 20:15

I've put on a pound. Which is completely understandable. Mind you, my period started today, rather to my surprise. I'm completely rubbish at keeping track of when it's going to be, and usually can only tell because I get increasingly grumpy, and my norks ache like anything. But this month I've been taking the Magnesium-OK multivitamins I normally forget, and hey presto - no achy norks.

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 20:16

And well done everyone who's lost - good for you.

agalch · 17/05/2007 20:42

Have put on 0.5lbs.I am not surprised tbh with my Indian takeaway last Sunday and the carbs i have been craving this week.

Am gonna try to be good this week and lose at least a pound and hopefully get back on track!!

Well done to everyone who lost this week!!!

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 21:58

did it really work that well Jackie? Thats the main symptom I get and they hurt like buggery!

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 22:10

It really did - of course, I don't actually have any proof that it's the Magnesium-OK that's done it, but I'm completely staggered. Usually I take my bra off in the evenings in the week to 10 days running up to my period, and it really hurts. But this month - nothing. I don't think I've been as grumpy either (though the rest of the family might disagree). Maybe I channelled it all into eating.

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 22:23

Have you been taking them all month or just the 10 days before - I'm tempted to give them a try.

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 22:25

Ooh where has my profile disappeared to? Has someone stolen it?

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 22:32

Um - not really sure - certainly for a good couple of weeks (sorry to be so vague). After having the DCs, I was getting extra-vicious pmt, and my HV at the time (one of the few good ones) suggested that these might help. I kept forgetting to take them, so never really found out if they did work or not. But a couple of weeks ago I realised that I could tie taking it in with DH taking his ADs in the morning, and I've been taking them pretty much every day.

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 22:33

Mysterious - wonder where your profile is.

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 22:47

tech has solved for me - should have a profile now...

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 22:48

Not yet...

JackieNo · 17/05/2007 22:51

It's back .

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 22:51

I have been reunited with my profile. I wanted to post photos of the little ones form DS who are not being adopted - just to see if I could make you cry Jackie...
