From that list - the toast sounds best.
Would he consider fruit?

Nemo2007 · 11/05/2007 11:52

he is a nightmare wont eat fruit or most veg but wants to loose weight. Has weetabix but adds a ton of sugar onto it etc

oh fgs

tell him to pig the lot and then make himself sick

honestly why are you bothered? His diet sounds appalling. He clearly thinks it is quite funny though so let him get on with it.

Nemo2007 · 11/05/2007 20:48

no need to be horrible... he knows his diet is bad and was looking for constructive advice!

A healthy diet is not just about losing weight but also about avoiding various other health problems. Suggestion of Mars bar for breakfast is probably what prompted Dropsides response -sounds like he is treating it as a bit of a laugh. But if DH is really serious about improving his diet he will need to cut out sugar. Have a look at what he likes and see how that can fit into a healthy diet - he doesn't have to give up everything he likes just be a bit more sensible.

Nemo, I can understand why Dropside responded the way she/he did...I mean, surely it is blatantly obvious that none of his Breakfast "options" are healthy anyway, so, does it matter....not really then...
If he is serious about making changes, there might be the need of "retraining" his tastebutts...the human being is designed to get used to just about the taste of anything and everything...maybe using raw Honey or even better Manuka Honey for sweetening is the best option instead of sugar...if eh sees the price of manuka honey he will soon cut down on the amount he uses, lol!
Cornflakes or those Oatcrunchies or Weetaflakes or Branflakes, possibly with life Yoghurt and berries (most people like Berries, don't they? and some Honey would be a healthier option. Or wholemeal Brea/Rye bread/Granary Bread instead of white and use Butter...margerine is one compund away from plastic, so, seriously unhealthy, whatever they claim.
Honey ratehr then Bovril, or Philadelphia maybe...on the Bread...!
I assume he isn't a Porridge lover then...that is a good Breakfast option....I personally can't stand those "Instant Porridges" but love proper Porridge (rolled Oats, etc..)....!
I am personally really into Juicing and will have Smoothies only for Breakfast...lovely and homejuiced...yum...some are just a mixture of juiced fruit and veg with some blended fruit into it and some have things like natural life Yoghurt or Soya yoghurt or Soya milk in it!
If he needs a wake up call...get him the Book Slim4life Jason Vale is fabulous
