Can you tell me how you deal with this? (I am a 16/18 on top, 18/20 on bottom)..do you fake it til you make it? or not just care? feeling really anxious about it (though I have been bigger and have managed it..but this time I'm all over the place).

I never take notice of anyone on the beach or round the pool either but last time one lady did catch my eye only because she was so glamorous! She was a bigger lady and wore string bikinis and she was full of confidence. She wasn't a youngster either. She looked great.

I'm a size 18, and after 2 Caesarians I can't contemplate a bikini. I have a fab wrap fronted swimsuit from Boden, which has tummy control panels and definitely hides the overhang a lot. It's this style:

l do also have really bad cellulite on my thighs, and they aren't toned either, they are wobbly..that makes a difference don't you think? It's why I have always thought that I couldn't wear shorts.

I would go with swimsuit or bikini for sunbathing and swimming and then a cover up/robe in a light fabric for wandering around in. And I am similar shape. Something really liberating about wearing a bikini.

BrownTurkey · 05/04/2018 07:46

I do find the more structured ones with high waisted bottoms and underwire bra best though, obviously (Bravissimo usually)

If you're worried about cellulite like I am them my beautician suggested I get something called a skinny tan if that helps 😊 I really do empathise as I'm really stressing out over it too!

Lanaa That looks fab if they had something similar in a brighter lighter colour that would do me for breakfast in the hotel. They aren’t very strict but you couldn’t just sit in a swimsuit but a sarong it kaftan is fine.

In off to Primark on Monday, hoping they might have a few bits, but I am a bit bit for most of their stuff.

Op please don’t let feeling so self conscious ruin your holiday.

Years and years ago I went to Greece on holiday when I was a size 8 and I can guarantee that I didn’t notice anyone on the beach or what size they were- I was sooo worried about my own body! (As a size 8 very insecure 20 year old!)

I look back now and think oh my god what a waste of my time- I should have been there enjoying myself, whatever size I was!

I am nearly 40 now and been everything up to a size 18 and have really struggled with my weight due to daily steroids I have to take but when I’m on the beach I’m there to have fun- I’ll be damned if I’m spending my time worrying about how I look.

How sad it would be if you looked back and wished you’d just gone for it and not worried - no one else is going to pay any attention to your wobbly bits!

Op I'm a size 18 with a huge belly.
I go for a 50's look on the beach or poolside.
High wasted brief and good fitting top. Or a structured swimsuit.
Honestly no one cares what we look like on holiday.
Red lippy, head held high and own your curves.

Try Rosegal website. If you Google Rosegal 50s plus size swimwear it will come up. Wider straps, deep cups and slightly lower cut legs. I'm a slightly top heavy size 16-18 hourglass and I think the retro cut swimming costumes and high waisted bikinis are really flattering. Like pp have said, no one else will care so try to relax and enjoy it.
