Asda Sparkling flavoured water healthy?

It has 0.5g of sugar & 5cals per 250ml. But is there some hidden sweetener I don't know about? I love the stuff but am dieting & don't really want this hindering my weight loss unknowingly. I know they're not all as healthy as they appear... thanks!

I think the problem with anything like this is that it encourages a sweet tooth. If you're drinking it throughout the day, your mouth always tastes sweet, doesn't it? That would surely have an impact on what you chose to eat.

@brilliantdisguise Thanks for your reply. I actually don't have much a sweet tooth in terms of food, much more of a savoury girl! & I have reasonably good will power when I'm on it it's just getting the motivation in the first place! More concerned about hidden sweeteners im not aware of!

Theyve got sucralose in it

dementedpixie · 23/02/2018 12:11

What does the ingredient list say? That will tell you about sweeteners

Ilovemybaby91 · 23/02/2018 12:25

I didn't know what the names were, is sucralose a sweetener @bruffin? And will that cause weight gain? Thanks...

It doesn't in itself cause weight gain. It is a sweetener though

Ilovemybaby91 · 23/02/2018 12:28

I knew it was too good to be true Hmm

But all the flavoured drinks will contain either sugar or sweeteners. You have to make the choice between the 2 or stick to plain water

bruffin · 23/02/2018 13:01

You can gat lowcalorie drinks without sweeteners or sugars. There is range called Feel Good with no sugar or sweeteners and only 5 calories. Bought it in tesco last week

bruffin · 23/02/2018 13:04

That is a flavoured water. Belvoir do a light version which is 26 cals per 100ml with no sweeteners

Ilovemybaby91 · 23/02/2018 13:22

Thank you! Will keep an eye out

You could make your own by mixing fruit juice with water as that's essentially what those Feel Good drinks are

bruffin · 23/02/2018 16:53

Or buying a good cordial and mixing with sparkling water
