Stress eating

I gave up sugar 6 months ago and have lost weight and generally have a bit better approach to food - eating healthier foods, not eating in the evenings, etc.

I partly gave up sugar (and caffeine) to cope with work stress. This past week though work stress has gone through the roof and I've realised that I do still have the urge to stress eat... E.g. there was a day last week where I had eaten: egg & avocado on toast; corn thins with peanut butter & banana; big bowl of homemade lentil & veg soup; turkey and tomato sandwich by 2.30pm. I was STUFFED but I still felt an overwhelming urge all afternoon to eat something on the basis that I would feel calmer.

Anyone got any suggestions of how to deal with this? I have managed to resist going back to sugar but have eaten more than I really needed to several days - and since I've lost weight and would like to lose more that's not a habit I want to get into.
