Have decided as well as cutting down on food to lose some weight I will also try and go for a run for around half an hour each evening. Anyone got any tips to maximise each session, i.e. is it good when you first start to walk for five and run for five that sort of thing. Havent run for years by the way. Also, does it work for you in keeping the weight down. Any comments very much appreciated
TIA

Hi dizzydo
Would definitely recommend the walk/run interval training when starting running. BUPA website has some great running programmes suitable from beginner's level up to half-marathons

BUPA running guide

Another tip would be to invest in a good pair of running shoes so that your feet are getting adequate support.

There's a few runners on the Exercise buddies thread if you're interested

Oh yes, definitely a good sports bra too!! Got a tip from Biglips on the other thread that TKMaxx do ShockAbsorber sports bras (can get them for around a fiver there, they're about 26 pounds or more online)

Laloop thanks for the schedule link. Shock absorber bra - if only I had enough to put in one. . I did wear my sports bra tho and that was really very comfortable so thanks to you and pesme for that

Good socks to put in the good shoes are blissful.
